Albeit I'm in the same boat as usadaytrader (I Have SERO, so I can't get this offer else I have to get off it permanently), this is a great deal for people who are on current plans or are looking to get on board with Sprint!

As a consumer/commercial underwriter I can tell you yes they do. They only time you will get a soft pull with a company is if you have an existing account and are looking for some kind of upgrade which requires a look into credit. New accounts of almost any kind (requiring credit) ALWAYS require hard pulls.
Just activated my Nexus 5 last night... I have to say, I am impressed with Sprint's implementation. No hint of the crappy "bloatware" that accompanies most of their phones. I have another Nexus 5 that I bought directly from the Google Play Store, and software/apps appear identical to me (no, I am not an expert, and I am not claiming to be one!) . I think the price that I paid with this Amazon deal, the ETF + $34.99 is less than what I paid from Google. Something to think about if you are on Sprint.
By the way, I did get this phone without changing plans, and I had to do nothing special. I have a 1500 minute family plan, with unlimited data; it is a plan not currently offered by Sprint.
Is this too good to be true? I am on the Free & Clear 750 plan and is ugrade eligible. When I select upgrade through Amazon, it says I can keep my plan and just need to add the $10 Premium Data package. Can this be true or will I have problems when I try to activate the Nexus 5?
