This is only a hot deal in parts of the country where movie tickets are $15. This must be a New York centric deal Also, don't forget Fandango charges a mandatory $1.50 convenience fee, which really throws ice on this deal.

In my town the theatres would be completely empty if tickets were $15, the price resistance is that strong. Theatres have to offer all sorts of coupons and discounts to get us in the door at half that much. Nobody has a problem with waiting for the movie to come out on VHS either - because VHS tapes are so plentiful at garage sales! RedBoxes are popular because they continually spike their punch with free movie codes. Sorry Hollywood, but the sad fact is you can only charge so much for a ticket and popcorn. Otherwise we'll use the same money for gas and go on a vacation!

Or a HOTTER deal is have a friend who works at the movie theater like me and go in for free.

VHS? Seriously?

rated:
can this be combined with the BOGO Visa Signature Friday deal?

rated:
This isn't always a whole free ticket... it's more like a '$14 gift certificate with no refund if your ticket costs less'. To buy a $15+1.50 ticket with this, you'll need to put in another $2.50 on Fandango.

I wonder if I'll be able to use this with my Visa B1G1 @ https://tickets.fandango.com/visasignature/

No need to have a friend. Just go in saying you're there for an interview and walk right by.

Living in NY, this is not a bad deal. I have not been to a movie theater in a long time. Deals like this is the only time I go to a theater now days.

Sweet! Was planning to catch Edge of Tomorrow today before it leaves theaters. $7 is cheaper than $12.50. Thanks!

I know. Average ticket prices before 6pm are under $7...$8 and $9 after. As for popcorn, EXPENSIVE...$7 for a large and $5-$6 for a large drink. You can make the same popcorn at home, just by using Orville Reddenbacher's popping oil...usually about $3-$4 for a bottle at WalMart or other places. I use it with any popcorn on my popcorn popper-it's a rotating popper...also get the MORTON popcorn fine salt--small 3.75oz...not regular salt.

Theatres in our area can be up to $15 for IMAX so this is a good deal for this in Indianapolis. If you're a member of AMC Stubs, they waive the Fandango processing fee.

Where in the country still watches VHS tapes, rather than Dvd, Internet Streaming, or even BluRay?

rated:
I get to see IMAX 3D free. Can't wait to see Transformers.

rated:
$2 Fandango fee for IMAX 3D means only $5 in savings through this deal. Thanks!

rated:
I concur that this is region dependent.

I live 10 miles from the 'fancy' theater at the mall. It's 9.25 for first run movies.

I live the same distance from the 'other' theather, which has 10+ screens and charges $5 for first run movies day or night.

I can't leverage this deal when going to the latter theater is cheaper than most 'national' deals.

you'll be in for a considerable wait for any movie that's been made in the last few years. unless you get someone to convert a DVD to VHS for you

rated:
this is a good deal thanks!

1 per purchase. Am I going to the movies by myself?

In your backwater town there's a wooden Red Box full of VHS tapes?

rated:
in Los Angeles, tickets are $20 for amc so $15 is cheap for imax 3d or amc prime even

rated:
to the above post: "This isn't always a whole free ticket... it's more like a '$14 gift certificate with no refund if your ticket costs less'. To buy a $15+1.50 ticket with this, you'll need to put in another $2.50 on Fandango."

If that's the case then this is actually worse than the Costco $8 theater tickets no?

rated:
not really. Costco gold tickets for new movies is extra $8 with 3d and new movie option and gold ticket surcharge like in burbank

In for one thanks!
