Worst Online Shopping experience ever!

Shopping with Babyage was the most painful and worst experience ever for us. We ordered an item with missing part. The Customer Service asked us to return the item, and then sent us a replacement. BUT we needed to be charged for the replacement first, and were promised to be given refund when the return received.

Well, they got the returning item BUT NEVER REFUND OUR MONEY! We called and emailed several times and they were just helpless and useless... Liars! Always said "you should get your refund in a couple days," and the refund never shown up. We paid double the price for this item. If you are considering to buy from BABYAGE. We'll recommend you STAY AWAY FROM THIS STORE!

Dishonest and horrible customer service

We bought a child car seat from this Crooklyn company and deeply regretted it. The box showed up badly beaten up and almost open after a really sloppy job of retaping the box. Suspecting that the seat might have been damaged, we contacted customer service to complain about the poorly packed and possibly damaged item and were told to open the box to inspect it. I discovered that the seat was bare inside the box, not even in a bag, with no packaging, and it was dirty, clearly not new. The CSR told me "No, those seats don't come in a bag - we shipped it to you sealed exactly the way that they come from the factory."

This was a blatant lie on three counts: 1) It wasn't sealed - someone had cut open the factory seal, slipped a Babyage invoice and catalog inside, and then did a real half-arsed job of retaping it (how else did their catalog get into the box???); 2) I called the manufacturer and they confirmed that their seats are shipped in bags, with styrofoam packaging in the box to keep it from slopping around; and 3) It is self-evident that new car seats do not come with dirt ground into them.

I called their customer service back, got a really rude CSR who refused to issue an RMA and then I demanded to speak with a CS manager. The CSR hung up on me. I called back, eventually spoke to an even more rude CS manager, who repeated the lie that they shipped it exactly the way it arrived from the manufacturer, she told me that they don't do refunds on opened merchandise, only store credit with a restocking fee, ignoring that I was told by the original Babyage CSR to open the box to inspect for damage. She then told me that was not responsible for my "obvious buyer's remorse" and hung up on me.

This joint is a scam shop. They sell used/returned merchandise as new plus they have a policy of opening up all boxes to insert their invoice and catalog. Thus, all boxes they ship out have been "opened" and they will then deny a return for a refund, which applies only to "unopened" packages, something that they do not ship. Their customer service would be terrific if the word "terrific" was a synonym for "rude" and "dishonest as hell." Avoid these chumps.
