Registered with that edu email last night, but still haven't got it from bestbuy.  Anyone having luck from them, or have an extra to Toshiba coupon?  Thx.

rated:
the code only took $20 off the discounted price, $120 off the regular price

rated:
Still comes up at $279 with the coupon? The $120 off seems to be subtracted from the original price, not the sale price. Coupon only takes &20.00 off the $299

rated:
Total ends up being $279, not $179. $120 is off the full original price.

This method is something people have been doing for awhile now and Best Buy does look at our forums now and again so it would not be very surprising if they had closed down this loophole but it's hard to say.

Where do I download the coupon to use then?  Or do I just come in and say I have a .edu email?

rated:
"Markdowns taken from regular prices." is what is written on the coupon.

Anyone have any luck getting it for 179.99?  There is some in stock in store by me, debating running over on my lunch break but won't waste my time if it's going to be 279.99.

Thanks

I guess I'm dense....I went to that site and filled out the account info....entered my "real" email address.....when I got all done they said I now have an account with my chosen username and my account email is my "real" (i.e. not .edu) address....how to I get the .edu address?

rated:
I just verified that the coupon will not work with a California Colleges email address; nothing gets sent there but it does get sent to my legit edu email almost immediately.

Doubt it unless you get an employee that screws it up. Same with the Beats speakers & the $200 off coupon. The current price is $250 making it only $50. But if you use the coupon you get $200 off the regular price making the coupon only apply $50 (not the listed $200). Same with this deal.

Thanks, I'll refrain from wasting my time.  My last experience with the local best buy was not a good one; not even trying to go through the hassle unless the deal is worth it.

I was able to do this twice (two daughters in college), once last night and once today. I used the 120 off and I used a 10% mover's coupon. I do not know why but the one last night rang up for 141.99 before tax (supervisor had to do some kind of override), todays rang up as 161.99 before tax. Also, I used a Best Buy CC so I received 10% Rewards back so that made up for the 9% Sales Tax.

Got one for 299- 129 less 10 percent moving coupon !!

THANKS

rated:
How were you able to get the $120 off when the coupon states it is off the regular price and not sale price? I realize you probably purchased in store, but the coupon doesn't show any difference between in store vs online.

rated:
that's how the system works, at least in-store not online, just have cashier scan coupon or type in code. sold out at local store, but gonna see if i can order it. read the thread at the other deal site, they're going nuts over this.

to make deal even sweeter, use 10% off movers coupon, and $20 off $200 from Ibotta app. also some might have a $25 off $250 from AMEX offer. both offers have been reported to work when using Amazon gift cards to reach the $200-250 limit.

Does someone need a coupon yet? I got some.

Definitely not intuitive as it states created email account with the one I input.

Go to send and receive messages on the right. Click and your email should be shown as xxxxxxxxx@californiacolleges.edu or something similar depending on your previous selections.

this is what separates FW from the other deal site. majority of that thread is people trying to flip their coupons for $5 Amazon gift card. that, plus folks here are aware of market value prices so know how to differentiate good from great, and the fact that the education lvl here seems much higher.

have an extra 10% movers off coupon if anyone wants

Green for OP. Got the last one at the Newington CT store for $161 + tax after $120 off plus 10% movers coupon. No overrides needed cashier simply consecutively scanned coupons.

rated:
I had to beg the sales person to try to order it, she did and it worked, 179+tax, I had the 10% off Movers coupon but I chickened out, didn't wanna push it.
