Optical zoom is 20X (35mm equivalent 25-500mm), not 24X as stated in title. Since this is a wide-angle lens, the top end is about 15 times a normal 35mm equivalent lens. Still a decent zoom, but not near today's "super zoom" class.

ETA: More specs --> http://www.olympusamerica.com/cpg_section/cpg_archived_product_details.asp?id=1576&fl=4 If you think 20x optical plus 4x digital zoom is 24x, you don't understand the concept of zoom. The digital zoom is a multiplier, not an addition. If you magnify optically 20 times and then magnify that digitally 4 times, you have a result of 80X combined zoom, not 24X.
I didn't mention anything about the price, or whether or not this was a good buy for $90 compared to spending $400+ for a super zoom like the Canon SX50. I was just pointing that the title was incorrect.

Or since we are talking about an Olympus camera, how about looking at what Olympus has to say about this: http://www.olympusamerica.com/crm/oneoffpages/crm_zoom.asp Optical and digital zoom combine to maximize total zoom capability. So if you have a 3x optical zoom and a 5x digital zoom, your total zoom would be 15x.
