I picked one of these up last night and it is a great tv. We prefer plasma over LED so we returned the Insigina 40" 1080p LED tv.

There is something weird about this exact model... the image does not show at the top of the TV with some copies.  One on dispay at BB has an inch missing at the top.  Press the MENU button and on the display the top part of the letters to "SOURCE" is all missing.

The one I bought and returned had 3 inches missing only at the top.  Press the MENU button and on the display the entire letters to "SOURCE" are missing.  In every TV show actors have the top of their heads missing blocked by a black dead zone.  Watching a NASCAR race, the leader listing along the top cannot be seen.

It happens from the start.  Regardless of formatting selected. Regardless of input source.  Even with the built in test image in the menu under Display Test.

Yet, the image is seen normally at the very bottom.  If you buy one, check the top for an image ASAP.

I have this exact model and have never regretted my purchase. It is an excellent TV at a great price. I'd get a warranty though. I hear Samsung plasmas develop issues layer.

with TVs these days tho, i would say if it lasts 5 yrs that you'd be good. not because of the quality, but because in that amount of time the new hotties will be out and you'll want one of those, and they'll be about this price. probably bigger, better, and may do your dishes for you and change baby's diapers
