Do you *have* to use the "mydlink" website to access the camera? I'd rather access it via my local network (like my Foscam camera) via the cam's built-in web server instead of going out to some "cloud" site to access it. I don't want the camera assessable to the internet, just my local net.

EDIT:  I found out that yes, you can access it locally via your LAN IP address without using mydlink.

Bought one of these last time it was on sale for $20.00, have it set up at my front door and has been working perfect in 90+ degree heat.

Tempting. For $16 its kind of like why not? Even if you have a full setup you could always use one more to watch the cookie jar or something lol

Can't get either the TREAT4U (account was new) or the VISA checkout $10-off to work (place two orders this way, both came back with the following "Unfortunately, we were unable to authorize your payment.") I've been wanting to get one of these for a while

Did you create a brand new account and use the coupon TREATU immediately?  It's only for brand new accounts but it should be available till 7/21. Not sure about the VISA checkout never tried it. Also it might be worth calling your card company and ask if they denied paying the merchant.  I know that a lot of card companies are a little bit hyper sensitive to fraudulent charges these days.

What ended up working a few minutes ago was the following: in Firefox, (not logged in to my non-working account) went through FW Rakuten link (I don't think this had anything to do with it), on Rakuten site I saw the $13-off banner for new customers, added the camera to my cart, went to checkout and selected New Customer (used a diff email, put account under another family member, and a diff phone number), and then the TREAT4U worked. Not sure if it was the different phone number, different first name or what.

For previous failed attempts I also created a new account but used my first name and a phone number I would have used previously.  Didn't change the shipping address at all.

That sounds almost exactly like what I did to get it to work.
