hmm, i've been looking for a chromebook, but with these specs you're making me reconsider. if i could just pay less for no OS it would be a no-brainer

Yeah that's a tough one. I like the idea of a Chromebook, but I think I'd get sick of it after awhile. They seem sort of limiting.  I like this but it doesn't have an optical drive. That would kill me.

You can always not agree to the EULA and wipe the drive then submit for a refund from Microsoft or Dell for not using the os. I can't remember how much they are refunding right now, but it works.

The product key is already with the unit, they will not refund anything.

Contact Dell... Tell them you are not utilizing the OS, and do not agree with the EULA. My buddy got a refund about 4 months ago because he wanted the system but it came with windows 8, so he wiped it and installed 7.. YMMV I guess depending on their mood, Dell has always been finicky.

But, in the end, this computer is only $230, if you are that hard up... don't buy a computer.

It's not a matter of being hard up, it's a matter of spending your money wisely.

I understand... However, $230 is spending wisely.
