size seems too larger for Asian people
Don't Order a Gift Box
I sent my brother a birthday present a year ago in a gift box and all but the least expensive item was cancelled. Fast forward to a year later, i.e. last month and I order my brother 3 thermal shirts in a gift box for Christmas. Two items were cancelled. I go online and all are in stock. I call Gap and the customer service rep tells me the items have just come back in stock. I order again and they credit the price of the gift box off the items. I get an email and the items are cancelled; I go online and they are in stock. I call Gap and the rep tells me that items with gift boxes are often sent to local stores and get cancelled because of lack of stock or differences in inventory between what Gap has and what the store has by the time they decide to fulfill the order. I ask why the unfulfilled orders aren't kicked back to the Gap warehouse and she says it's because they have a bad i.t. set-up. This sounds ridiculous to me. In any case I re-order and they credit the cost of the gift box off the items. AGAIN they are cancelled. I call a rep and tell her the two theories of the other reps and she assures me the second rep was wrong. She checks the warehouse stock...it's fine; the items are in stock. Then she talks to her supervisor. Guess what? The second rep was correct...Gap orders with gift boxes are often sent to local stores to be fulfilled and when they can't that's it...they are cancelled...not sent back to the central warehouse. To their credit the last rep was amazing and contacted a local store and had them ship the items without a gift box but the whole final transaction took an hour. Their sales tactics with gift boxes are absolutely ridiculous!
Wish their products were made in USA
I like GAP clothing, they fit me well and I am petite, so not an easy fit, in jeans, especially. Their clothes hold up relatively well. In store, I've had super service. They reported my CashBack almost instantly when shopping online. I didn't give them 5 stars because unless they've changed, so many of their products are made in China and that matters to me.

Ok, I admit I used to buy stuff from gap because you get a good deal and their clothes fit well. But what pushed me over the edge is gapcard's poor customer service. They suddenly stopped sending me bills (paper or email), resulting my account going delinquent, and the unpaid balance is $8. Who wouldn't pay $8 off for months to ruin their credit report?! I searched online and found many people share the same experience. When I called the gapcard customer service, it took me half a morning and five different persons and very long wait!! I don't know if they really take care of the problem and removed my late payment report, but I would never buy gap again, period! I'm fed up! If you really like their clothes and use their card, remember to pay it off right away, because you may not get a statement at all!!
