It does say for Xiaomi phones . . . hmmm

This plug requires that you use a special app, right? Is the app safe, or full of adware or spyware?

I couldn't enter the promo code without creating an account. I finally decided to create an account, and found out the coupon code only works on qty 1.

You can get this item from DX for only $1.66.

I have one of these on my Galaxy S5, and am using the Klick app linked from the dx.com page, and love it. Did not buy it from either of these vendors but it appears to be the same.

In for one of these, I have never heard of such a device until I saw this thread, but it certainly looks like a great idea, and it is inexpensive enough that if I don't care for it much I have spent less than on several disappointing apps I have paid for.

I am thinking that being able to activate my favorite apps with just a click or two is going to be a killer app.

Not sure I understand the functionality of this device, but the webpage for it is HILARIOUS. Between the broken English and what appears to be the scene of a vehicular homicide.

"Each feature need firstly set through the app and activated using a certain number of button presses"
"Just support the bluetooth version more than 4.0 android smart phone, not support microsoft and apple system"

What is the purpose for this "invention"?

You stick it into the headphone jack of your phone, it has a button on the top that you press. With the klick app installed it will launch different apps based on the number of times you press the button. Say one click for a navigation app, two clicks for your messaging app, etc...

I didn't get it at first, but once I did I was kind of impressed with the simplicity of it. I wonder if it is successful if we will see phones come with a similar button. Seems awfully simple and seems to make so much sense that I wonder why we haven't seen something like this before.

Has anyone who has this tried using it with the Pressy App? I know the description on the Pressy App says it will only work with the Pressy button, but wondering if it really matters.

SO basically, it does the same thing as the HOME button on my jailbroken iPhone (and probably not as elegantly).

NO, basically you don't have to root your Android phone for this to work. There are also a multitude of reasonably priced Android phones that will make your wallet fatter versus iDevices.

* I know there are also overpriced Android devices, which I would never buy. My limit for smartphones is $200, currently have a Nexus 4 which I bought used for $200. I also make my wallet fatter by having 5 people on Cricket.

I have two, neither work on my Nexus 5

I backed the Pressy and waited forever to receive it.

Got it, used it for like 10 minutes, then tossed it in a drawer.

rated:
Can't you also remap the camera button on most android phones to activate other apps? I do like the idea of adding an extra button to my phone. I never use a wired headset anyway.

No rooting needed. Plug it in, and "it just works".

They probably ship from China - it'll likely be a month or more.

Theoretically it will work with the Pressy app, and all the other similar apps. However, I heard that you need a code to activate to Pressy app.  Actually I heard that even a normal headphone plug will work with all these apps.

Order page still shows order processing a week after placing the order -- has anyone's order shipped?

So, this is a ripoff from the kickstarter for the (higher quality) similar device?

Interesting if they have patents, I imagine some sort of lawsuits will be pending, which will close this app down. Not sure I want to bother, but I'm mildly interested.

Just received mine (sort of). They sent the wrong thing.

I don't know what it is. It's a small, white plastic thingie with a silver button at the end.

BUT it's not round and will not in any way fit in a headphone jack.

I started a ticket at GB so we'll see what happens.

Any idea what they sent me?

Pull the silver thing out of the plastic case.

rated:
The white plastic casing is for you to store the silver shortcut plug and can be attached to your headphone wire.  You just need to take it out from the plastic case and place it in the phone's headphone jack.
Unfortunately, this device does not work with my phone, Moto G even though it is an Android 4.4 device.

rated:
So... I got it, but the official Pressy app needs an activation code - presumably to foil similar knockoffs.

Any ideas?

iKey. Answered my own question. Hopefully someone else's was answered too...

Now to make it work on my Ascend Mate 2...

Even at $0.39, it was a waste of money. It's a piece of crap. It doesn't work.

Yes, that was it!  I didn't think the device was small enough to fit in the "white plastic thingie".  Do they all come in the case?

Thanks!
