I ordered a pair of prescription glasses from GFU after having a lukewarm experience with 39dollarglasses.com. Goggles4u has an extensive selection of frames, and the quality was slightly better than what I expected. In addition to the 8% cash back, with a fatwallet coupon code I ended up spending about $9, including "clip on" sunglasses, that actually stay on with magnets.

Goggles4u has very good prices, but keep in mind that they are shaving $5 off the price of every pair and tacking it back on in the end. They call it "shipping" even though it has nothing to do with shipping costs, and is really a way of saying that there's an additional $4.99 restocking fee if you are not satisfied. The "shipping" cost, and half the lens cost means that if you are not satisfied, you probably won't bother sending anything back because if you pay return shipping, it's not worth it. 39DG will probably give you free shipping, especially if you order multiple pairs, while G4U will tack on a charge for each pair. So 39DG really does have a worthwhile return policy, but you are not risking much with Goggles4u's low prices and good quality.

Shipping itself was slower than I expected. I live in the same state and the glasses arrived two days later than the postmark date, which showed that they were sent out three business days after G4U told me they had been shipped. It was still faster than 39DG, whose claimed shipping date was even more questionable.

I did contact customer service with questions, and got immediate answers. Since I had used express checkout, I was unable to get my order status on line. But the service rep linked my order to my account for me anyway, which was nice, since I knew up front that it would not have been linked.

Overall, the glasses and frames were good, the case was adequate, there were extra nose pads and a micro screwdriver set included, as well as an eyeglass cloth. They use CR39 plastic lenses, which are optically superior to the polycarbonate lenses used by 39DG. For me, that's a good thing. But polycarbonate lenses cost more at retail and are more impact resistant. So if you want glasses for your kids to wear when they play, G4U might not be your choice. But they gave me an incredible value for the money and I'm sure I'll be using them again soon. Even without the coupon, the glasses are worth more than what I paid.
