Thanks OP. HSN's description is a bit misleading. The video recording is Full HD, the screen is not - it's a 1280x720.

Does this work on GSM networks if we manage to get it unlocked?

How much is their unlimited data, is there a cap? Good deal if for someone with few calls and more data usage

rated:
VM is unlimited data with a soft cap at 2.5gb, you get throttled down a lot from there. Sprint network, no roaming.

I was pretty close to pulling the trigger on this once but the failure rate of S3 is pretty high. Even now people still get struck with the black screen of death. The $25 replacement plan HSN offers might be something to pick up with it. ATM only the s5 has been announced for VM so S3 is still the only reasonably priced high performance phone vm has.

Don't forget the S2...not a huge leap between the S2 and S3...

You can't roam on Sprint? Is that just on Virgin or Sprint in general. I've had an S3 on VZ since the first day offered. Mine has been a trouble free phone since but I sure pay more than $55 a month.

no, the s3 is a large leap from the s2. The cpu is a whole nother class, the screen is a whole nother class, the camera is a whole nother class. I would easily put the HTC desire above the s2.

Builder, just VM/Boost. Other pre pay vendors that are NOT already their own network are in the same boat.

check the coverage especially with any friends and family on the same network, I have being on Virgin Mobile before and even though they piggy back in Sprint network, Noticed a world of difference compared to T Mobile.

i had the S2 before the S3 and i agree the S3 is a lot better. the screen is much nicer, it's faster, the battery life seems a lot longer (though isn't great, you can't get a whole day out of it on one charge). its footprint is bigger than the S2 (i liked the size of the S2 more actually, this is a very big phone, a lot to fit in tight jeans pocket). i don't know if it was my particular S2, but it was way more glitchy and would freeze up more than my S3. one thing to consider if you are starting with Virgin is that it's nearly impossible to find discounted refill cards so take that into consideration when determining amount of savings when switching from another prepaid carrier. also, when i heard Groove IP was going under, I started using Ooma's app on my phone if i'm going over on minutes to make free calls (since i have a land line w/ Ooma). it's great because it looks like your calling form your landline and so doesn't confuse people.

Sin, tmobile has worse coverage. It is unfortunate but they are lacking the deep pockets and it shows in their coverage. In fact the Target store I work at gets no tmobile signals what so ever. Good thing we never sell any brightspot phones. ^^
