All Tracfone models that end in "G" are either using AT&T or T-Mobile. AT&T is more common, so if you order this, that's what you'll probably get. Once you receive the phone, look at the product model name under the box (next to the activation bar code). If you see P4, R4, or P4P in the name, it's an AT&T phone. If you see P5, R5, or P5P it's T-Mobile.
For example: You get a model named "TFLG840GWTTMP4" Since "P4" is in the name, that phone runs on the AT&T network.
Activation: Phone comes with 10 minutes and 2 months service,
The deal: HSN sends 1,450
Total: 425 service days, 1,460 minutes total.

You can get online with WiFi even before it is activated. You can also use it on WiFi after you deactivate it. CAREFUL: When activated it will switch to Mobile minutes if it looses the WiFi connection. There are icons at the top to let you know how you are connected. You cannort make calls or MMS when on WiFi. Data speed will be 3G if you have access to that signal. You will not have data when roaming. HSN supplies their GSM phones with a SIM for AT&T service.

Too bad. So for this is YMMV
How do you think this will work out if I buy 4 individual phones? Do I need to ship them to different addresses? Do I need to use different credit cards? I am assuming it is a given to use different email addresses for each individual purchase. I am thinking about getting one for each of my kids, my wife and myself. We would be replacing Virgin Mobile LG Rumor phones on the grandfathered $25 per month plan (my wife and I are on that plan. My kids dont have a phone right now, and it would only be used for emergency contact for them. Everyday use for my wife and I).
I think this is a GREAT deal. I paid $99.99 in May. Nice phone. No prob transfering my old # to Tracfone. I hope they have a deal like this when my year is up. I can buy two(2) of these for just the cost of minutes and another year.
Newbie questions here: - Can I use the tracfone SIM with my Android phone? - If I can, will Google Maps navigation and Youtube work with Tracfone (only use these a few times a month, but I do need them)? Thanks.

The fact that this is a tracfone by itself is not going to cause any issues porting the landline number. Issues/delays, if any, may be due to your local phone company.

It is not only the 1400 minutes that are important, it is the one year of service. Tracfone only sells days of service alone two way, 1 year for $50 or one month for $5.95. It takes days of service to keep the phone ACTIVE, it takes minutes to OPERATE the phone. Bundled airtime is always the cheapest way you will ever buy it. There is no CashBack allowed on airtime purchased alone.
Delays on porting your phone number usually come from your current service provider, who hates losing you to a competitor.

Thanks. Tracfone has never sold an Android phone. Are you talking about Net10 or Straight Talk? Tracfone does not offer the unlimited 30 day airtime that is required for your Android. Tracfone is pay by the minute only. The LG840G is a 3G/WiFi FEATURE PHONE, not a smartphone. Google maps navigation while traveling will use way too many mobile minutes to be affordible (no WiFi on the road to save minutes). You Tube will also be too expensive unless you use WiFi.
So no you cannot use the unlocked SIM from the Android, the LG840G uses a special locked SIM because of the airtime bank on the LG840. Stay with your Android.
I saw in the small print that you need to activate it and "request the minutes" within a 60 day period after ordering it. I have 3 questions: 1. I wanted to give this as a Christmas present (which is 31/2 months away) so can I just activate it at 59 days and then add the year and 1400 minutes right before Christmas???????? 2. The person I am giving it to, already has a tracfone and I'm sure wants to keep their number. So, when I activate it, Tracfne will give me another number. Can their original Tracfone number be changed over at Christmas??????? 3. Or when I activate it, can I ask for the same number as the original, but the original will also keep the number???
Anyone who knows the answers to any of these 3 questions please let me know.

Exceptional deal for $59! Transferring my number from another TF to this one has been a nghtmare. TF is now sending me another SIM since the original doesn't work properly.
TF is fine, until there is a problem.
BTW, is it unreasonable to expect customer service reps who can communicate clearly in understandable English?
