They charge the same $40 for just the battery. Might as well pick up a spare drill and slow charger for this price. Unfortunately, the drill is not the one shown in the member summary. It's a cheaper model that they made just for selling on Black Friday at $40. According to the online reviews, it doesn't have the bit holder in front of the magnetic tray. Also the charger shown in the member summary is not the same as what this comes with. It's the kind that just sits over the top of the battery, and instead of charging the battery in about 30 minutes, it charges it in "as little as" 8 hours.

But like I started out saying, you'd pay $40 just for the battery, so this is still a hot deal. Just be aware of what you're getting.

I suppose that it doesn't include the carrying case shown in the Quick Summary either.  I cheched several references to the P828 Kit and none mentions a case.

None in stock at the two nearby stores anyway.

Got one of these on Black Friday. I always tend to pick one up every year just for the battery but I think I have enough now for all the tools I have. Two drills are handy for screws, one to drill the pilot hole and the other to drive the screw, saves having to switch bits. This one is only 3/8 also, a 1/2 one comes in handy once in a while. Not a bad deal if you can still find it, I figured most stores probably sold out not too long after black friday.

The slow charger they give you with this low price point is not the worst thing in the world for a lithium battery setup. The lithium battery will hold the charge for a long time, and stay ready to go. That makes this drill viable for someone who just wants a cordless drill for very casual use. With the old NiCad setup, those slow chargers were near worthless because the battery would be dead after sitting for a while, and you had a long wait for a charge, meaning the tool was rarely ready when you needed it.

For someone who might use this to drill a few holes or drives a few screws every month or two, it's fine. The lithium battery can be charged just a few times a year and always be ready for light duty tasks.

but if you can use (or need) 2 batteries this is the better deal.p817@HD Ryobi Description

That's $79. And for the same price, you can get this instead: http://www.homedepot.com/p/Ryobi-18-Volt-Drill-and-Reciprocating...
