Been shopping at meijer for years. Always great. Good CS when an issue comes up.

Got a more helpful CS rep 3rd time calling, will re-review if problems are fixed

After writing my review I called CS one more time, just to see if something could be done. I got a very kind person who promised to personally handle the situation and take it up with a supervisor to see if something could be done. I am writing this add-on to my previous review just to be fair to the company, since it's the last days of holiday shopping season. I have no results yet, and will re-review if they are able to fix these problems, but due to this CS rep's helpfulness, I felt I should come back and mention it. Here's hoping.

Unreliable! Never again :(

I ordered a Christmas tree and ornaments for an elderly relative too feeble to get their own tree this yr. Although the items were both in Meijer.com's "quick ship" category promised to be available, in stock, and delivered by Christmas, the day my order shipped (almost 3 days after placiing it) I got an email, after I got the shipping notification, saying that the ornaments part of my order had been canceled!! I called customer service and was told the item was not in stock. Since it was now only a few days before Christmas, they gave me the option to order a different (more expensive!) set of ornaments, but informed me I'd now have to PAY EXTRA for 2-day shipping, if I wanted the ornaments there by Christmas!! So because they didn't have their inventory straight, I was now expected to pay an additional $10 or more to for the more expedient shipping, if I wanted it there by Xmas. The CS rep seemed just as upset about it as I was, and whispered (was she afraid of her manager???) she could write a note to ask if the extra 2-day shipping charges could be refunded, but could not promise me that they would, and by the tone of her voice, she sounded doubtful they would be.

Also because my order seemed to take a while to ship (for a 'quick ship'), I had called CS previously 2 times about this same order, to find out if it was in fact going to ship in time for Christmas. Both times the CS reps were just like "Well they're telling us it'll all get there by Christmas," but both times it sounded like they doubted it themselves, and they would not guarantee anything. I find that troubling, and can only pray the tree gets there by Xmas.

So they basically shipped my relative a naked Christmas tree that may or may not get there by Xmas, even though their site promised (and even is still promising Xmas delivery as I write this review on Dec. 20) that it would be.

In addition, the CS reps had no idea themselves and no way to find out where the items would be shipping from. So basically this is just some kind of drop ship company that doesn't have its act together. Stay away!
