So. this connects directly to the TV and needs no AV receiver? It's for folks who don't have a surround sound sytem?

These taste nothing like regular PowerBar energy bars.

Amex has current offer for card holders, spend $150 at New Egg, get $15 back. Expires 7/31. Buy 2 I guess or get yourself a high end blender!

FWIW, the 36" 2.1-Channel Sound Bar System with Wireless Subwoofer (Model: HW-F450) is selling for $149.99 at Newegg. The differences between the Klipsch and Samsung are:

  • The Samsung has HDMI pass-through, e.g. hook-up PS3 into Speakers and then onto TV.
  • The Samsung is 1.8" deep vs. the Klipsch is 4.1" deep (for those who care about a flush mount against a wall)
  • The Samsung has a wireless subwoofer.
  • The Samsung has BT 2.1 for audio streaming (I think) -- MP3, WMA, AAC, OGG, FLAC, WAV
  • The Samsung includes a wall-mounting bracket
  • The Samsung does not come with a optical digital cable.

It gets pretty good reviews at BestBuy (though probably not the most saavy audiophiles there -- http://www.bestbuy.com/site/samsung-2-1-channel-soundbar-with-wireless-subwoofer/7905043.p )
