I have no need for DVD burners since 2005/6. The only one I have and still use from time to time is a USB portable one and I mostly use it only for music CDs. It is so hard to justify the $15 price for this and having to give up one 5.25" slot for something not portable and that only gets used one or two times in its lifetime when a Blu-ray reader(or even burner when on sale) is below $50.
I actually have a stack of 4 of those internal DVDR/RW drives laying around that I don't want to throw them out just yet because they can read data in raw mode. But they have been collecting dust for several years now...

But they have been collecting dust for several years now... I have a BUNCH of old "stuff" laying around, couple weeks ago put lots of it into a box to ship to a kid of a friend of mine who repairs computers for people and/or also gets old puters up and running and sells them. Better let him use the stuff while it's still able to be put to use; so much stuff I had here had just gotten to the point that it's worthless. So I guess I'm saying give it away before then, someone will use it still.
