IIRC mobile socket 478 and desktop socket 478 have different pinouts. There were some rare desktop boards, with the mobile socket, which could run an early version of the Core processors.
FAR item, but only good for a laugh. Wonder if it will sell out?

It was 1% when I last checked. And even at 2%, and 2% credit card, you're still out of pocket (barely) for the stamp.

$100 - 2% credit card - 2% Cash Back = -$4 + $0.46 stamp - $0.02 (gotta include Cash Back for the purchase of the stamp) = $3.56 profit. I'd be in for a ton of poo!

from what i can figure this is Northwood-256, generation before Celeron M. it was hot exactly 11 years ago. 2002 very much would like to have it at this price.
yeah, I'm in the 'this is worthless camp' as this CPU is 11 years old... Most of the laptops of that era already came with a decent Pentium 4 processor so this would be a downgrade in most cases. Heck I've got a P4 Prescott 3Ghz sitting here on my desk that's collected dust for a few years I'll give to someone if they'll cover the shipping.

Your core2 is 4 generations past this, not exactly what I'd call a fair comparison...

But hey, how about that Celeron 300A vs. the Pentium II?

It seemed to me you were comparing your $10 core2 with this $10 celeron but would you really expect a Sith Master to be pure of heart ?

Buddy, it's ends up being free. Give it to a kid and tell them it's a secret transmitter to another dimension. You'll make their day..and spent a net cost of nothing. Case closed.

Celeron 300A is much stronger than Pentium II, even without floating point calculation.
