I have this printer, it is a real workhorse. I have printed over 25,000 pages so far with toner refill hacks. Have yet to replace the drum.

I have this printer. Works great and very little maintenance.

I have this printer as well and must say it is very well designed and prints great!!

Great price!

I have a presumably earlier model - the Brother HL-2040. I do the toner hacks as well - it's amazing how many thousands of pages you can get after the printer says the toner is empty. I print a lot and have had the printer for at least 5 years I'd say. I'm on my third toner.

To be honest, I'm kind of looking forward to the day that the printer dies so I can buy a standalone wireless printer so my main computer doesn't have to be out of sleep mode to print from another computer / tablet.

Oh Brother!

Price is great, am wondering how much does the cartridge cost.

Dirt cheap, like under $12 each on eBay in quantity and they work as good or better than the originals.

I'd be in the car on the way to OM if I needed a third printer.

Nice post OP!

Get a cheap router with USB and put Tomato on it to make it a wireless print server.

Does that model have an ethernet wired port? If so, just give it an IP address and connect it to your wireless router. Any computer connected on your wireless network can print directly.

Nope.

Networking: None (from OM specs)

Guess that means you can make any (USB) printer wireless. Right?

works well ... but i have to ask the others who have this ... don't you think it's quite LOUD?
i used to have a samsung laser printer and that thing was a great little printer and didn't stay loud so long like this brother

Either the router with USB port or a USB print server will make any USB printer wireless, network attached.
