Nice deal OP.

A lot of perks comes with the Club O Membership.

The price is low enough I'm tempted. O-stock is one of those places that has been around forever on the internet and though I have made a few purchases there, it's been a long time. I did try to get a TV from there a few years ago. Though it arrived in a solid box, the screen was cracked. O's customer service was good. They credited me and didn't even bother to pick up the dead TV. I ended up selling it on C-list for $50.

Anyone else care to share some examples of good value they have gotten out of joining the club?

I do see that vets/military personnel can get free membership: http://www.overstock.com/clubomilitary

Costco thought of that too....now they're shutting them....oops.

It's not like you can't shop at overstock without the membership.

Thanks OP.

FYI, for anyone stumbling through turning off auto-renew. Once you've completed your purchase, go to My Account -> My Club O -> Club O Rewards

On that page you'll see where to disable auto renew.

Lots of folks jumping onto that Amazon Prime con too...

Wonder if I can get 5% back on an auto purchase.  They sell CARS?!

Just came in here to mention this.  I regularly see this on TroopSwap (a site with LOTS of military only deals, with a charitable background.

NEW memberships only (sign up a new email address).

At $4.95 this is a good deal. You get this back in Club O dollars in a reasonable amount of time. If you're only an occasional shopper, it would be reasonably difficult to get back $20 in Club O dollars. The faster shipping is nice - nice enough to get me purchasing more things than I would otherwise. They're still the best place I've found for high thread-count sheets.

These guys still in business? I got a free year membership after their CEO (or somebody) did a radio show back in the day. I used it - maybe once. Maybe.

I think they still offer 3 months for free fairly often too, but to qualify for it you can't have had a Club O membership within the last year.

While this sounds like a decent deal, I recommend you check out coupon websites(+FatWallet CashBack) instead. I recently needed an 8x10 rug for a new house that ended up getting from Overstock. After searching many local retailers I could not find any modern looking rugs for under $400. Large rugs are insanely expensive. All I could find was a few super ugly oriental rugs, and a few grey and pink rugs for about $300 at TJMAXX. I ended up ordering an great rug on overstock for $200 plus 10% off and free shipping from a coupon for new customers on retail me not. New emails addresses are free.

I would classify myself as an extreme skeptic, and I hate marketing and hype, but overstock does have some really great deals on home stuff if you are willing to take the time to browse and read reviews.

$5 sounds not bad for free shipping. In 4 1.

I bought a Pentax DSLR camera there last year that was priced in the average ballpark. For some reason, they were doing 25% back in rewards on that item (about $165). That ended up tipping the scales for me... For $5, it's a no brainer if you think you might order some furniture, a rug, or other stuff that they sell but Amazon might not during the next year.

Where do you turn off the Auto Renew?  I go to My Account > My Club O and I don't see anything to turn off Auto Renew.... only a button to Renew Now.

rated:
it's in the "Club O Rewards" tab under My Account.
