I don't think that has been stated yet as, from what I understand, the program doesn't begin for a few more days (Nov. 1 is what I remember hearing). My impression, however, is that you need to take the tablet into a T-Mobile store; my guess is that they will want the IMEI into a database showing that it is eligible for the free data (and to give them a chance to upsale you). Additionally, in some cases, I think they want to see that it actually is a tablet.
Quick note - I ordered these at the same price a few weeks ago with the intent that I could order an iPhone and not have to pay for the $10 sim. However, there was no way to order online without the $10 sim kit.
I called customer service to try and get the $10 credit and all they were willing to do was credit me the $1.98 (I ordered 2 micro sims) from the sims I already ordered. Still haven't seen the credit yet, but FYI for all trying to do the same thing.
I have activate the tablet sim using the sim kit and calling them .. so no need to go to the store. No hard all either I just simply say I am not ready to use data plan yet However I will can't select the data yet. The plan said site still under construction
great to get ready for the N5. also handy for when your sim messes up if ever. I got shipped a prepaid blaze with a bad sim in it. luckily I had 2 of these free sims on hand and it was no problem. def would have sucked otherwise wasting my time going to a tmo store or waiting for another to ship out.
From what I can find, the Verizon iPhone 5 will be limited on T-Mobile. It does not appear to support LTE Band 4, so you won't have LTE. It doesn't have AWS 3G (missing the 1700 Mhz band), so will only get 3G/HSPA+ in areas where T-Mobile has refarmed the 1900 Mhz for 3G. In all other areas it will get only 2G. This is true regardless of the plan, purchasing a more expensive plan won't make the phone work better. The $30 plan is not 4G only; additionally, T-Mobile calls HSPA+ "4G" -- which is technically only an extension of the 3G standard (since it can have download speeds similar to LTE).
The Verizon iPhone 5s and 5c both work well on T-Mobile, supporting all the needed frequencies.
