Xbox 360 Wired Controller - FREE After MIR @ TigerDirect

No, this requires the combined purchase (and activation) of Total Defense Security Software. You need to put the required combination purchase information in the title.

You are not understanding the rebate or "deal".  This is not just get a: "Xbox 360 Controller--Free after Rebate".  This is an offer that requires both items to be purchased and the activation of the software.

Yes, so the title should be Xbox 360 Wired Controller + Total Defense Security FAR @TigerDirect

People get bent out of shape over this because they see the link and think "Oh! Controller!" and click it and find out, "Oh, Controller + Software" and are disappointed, or maybe they've already gotten the rebate on another deal, so they can't take advantage of this one.

Change the title, and instead of red, you'll get at least yellow, if not green.

Please put the Total Defense requirement in the title - most people here know that dealing with Total Defense (or CA) is not worth the "free" product you get with it.

EDIT: Thank you  But you'll probably still get red because Total Defense is crooked and should not be trusted with your real credit card number (use a temp one if you must).

All finished guys. Thanks for the tip.

Have you used a temporary card with them before? I would be pretty upset if they refused to cancel a trial and I didn't have another way out.

Just report the card lost and get a new one....

Buyers beware, Total defense will never send your rebate. I have been a victim of their scam and personally know a few others who have been victims as well. The also try to sell a lousy software with terrible UI. So, buy at your own risk!

By "never send your rebate" you must mean "will send your rebate to you in 3 weeks even if you didn't take the 10% penalty on the 'rush processing'".  At least that's what happened with my December rebate...

I dunno if I've been lucky, but I've done 4 of these TotalDefense rebates and haven't really had issues (3 paid out, 1 processing). You do need to activate the software (free) and provide a CC for autorenew, but it takes about 30 seconds to cancel autorenew and you don't have to install the software. I don't need a 360 controller, but I fully intend to continue doing these TotalDefense offers in the future.

1. If they don't send your rebate in the stated 8-10 weeks, report them to their state attorney general's office.
2. I do hate these temporary debit cards because you have to get your vendor to debit the exact amount to completely cash it out.
3. Tiger Direct also has a $10 rebate off any $50 purchase until 1/24/14. This is before the Total Defense $60 rebate. Its on their home page. So better than free!

Me too, although WalMart's never given me a hassle with the Staples ones when I tell them "please take exactly $28 from this one" or something to that effect.

Yah, the first time I had one, I did't know and didn't know how to get rid of the last $8 before the card expired. It expired.  Now I know which vendors will do it for me. WalMart! I'll keep it in mind. Maybe I'll get some 12th man flags! I'm from Seattle!

I always clear out the gift cards with AP. Make sure the enter the expiration date incorrectly when you initially add the card and then fix it to avoid the $1 hold
