Terrible Bait and Switch
I had some of the same problems, I ordered for the buy one get on DS game 50% off, then I wanted to add the $25 off a $150 purchase with Mastercard, so I found some other items to get my Christmas shopping done. When I checked out and submitted my order the DS game that was supposed to be 50% off was no longer in stock, so it was removed from my order, but the rest of the items were still submitted all at full price and I no longer had a total of $150, so all my discounts were gone. I was not able to cancel the order via their directions, and after spending 1 hour on the computer, I called and spent 2 hours on the phone (first 30 minutes on hold). The game still appeared to be in stock for pick up in Muncie, but by the time I was able to get someone on the phone to create a new order, it was also supposedly out of stock. During the 2 hours on the phone, they repeatedly insisted that they couldn't cancel the order placed online, but could place a new order for me giving me a different DS game at 50% off. After being transferred around and on hold on and off they decided to give me an extra $20 for the trouble, so again my order was not $150. I added a couple more items to get the Mastercard deal, and they came back on the phone to tell me they couldn't give me the extra money off AND do the Mastercard deal at the same time. So I asked to get the $45 discount I was expecting in the first place, and he said the $40 he was giving me was already over his limit. Well after 3 hours I couldn't just cancel, so I had to accept, but had him remove the extra items. And my biggest pet peeve, OF COURSE they spread the "discount" to the cost of each item so if you return it you lose the discount. I should only lose the discount if I return the 50% off game, not on everything else! I was still unable to cancel the online order even after it was done "processing," so now when the duplicate items arrive I will have to go out of my way to return those! Something similar happened to me last year, NEVER AGAIN, will I shop at Toys 'R US! With the phone order, I also did not get Fat Wallet cash back.
Toysrus vs. Amazon
I ordered my Grandson's B-day presents from Toysrus in Sept. All 6 items could've fit into one box since 5 items were very small (Ds stylus pack, Ds holder etc.) But, over a period of two weeks I received three packages from Toysrus!! The larger item, a Thomas the Train Roundhouse, was the wrong item & meant for a toddler. No problem, the cheapest price I could find the Tidmouth Roundhouse for was on Amazon. Ordered it from their & received in two days BUT also in the same box was two other items I ordered!!! WOW Guess I know where I'm shopping!!

I took all morning to Christmas shop on Toys r Us site, they had serious issues with checking out, I called and the woman (who could hardly speak Engish) basically told me that I must have bad credit and that was why I couldn't check out! (which couldnt be farther from the truth)and that she couldnt help me,I told her to get me someone who could!SO, then she comes back and tells me it is a site problem! (strikeONE) then I go back to try again and the cart was $20 MORE than what I started with! called again, no answers as to why (strike TWO) the free things that were to come with my order were not showing up in the cart, lady on the phone told me I would be better off going to the store myself (35 mins outa my way) Strike THREE!! I'm DONE NEVER AGAIN TOYS R US NEVER!!!
