Wow .. that's tremendous. My son has this as his #1 Santa gift, but .. he's just a touch too young. I bought it anyway, since I've never seen the price at $275 .. it hangs around at $325-350. Tax is pretty intense, though, at $18.
onlypinkfloyd said: yeah I saw that too... but curious about what the little picture icon below the product page says ($50 egift card) vs what the title says $75 gift card. What is it WalMart??? actually, if you hover the mouse over the picture... the zoomed version has "$75 egift card", not $50. Do a print screen for evidence.
Issue with ordering this item still not resolved.... with in minutes of placing the order I received following message (even though my credit card was successfully charged) - Thank you for shopping with WalMart.com. Unfortunately, due to an error processing payment information, we have had to cancel the following order. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

Verified $75 e-gift card.
An update .. order#2 says "processing" .. which is likely normal.
But order #1 .. I received a "cancel" email. But in order status, the eGift card is "cancelled" but the item (Mindstorms) is "processing." I certainly don't need two of them. I suppose worse case-scenario, I get two and need to return one at the store.
I think WalMart has fixed their payment systems problem: I was able to place the order late yesterday afternoon with my AmEx. A few minutes later I had confirmation from AmEx that I received Cash Back from their WalMart offer. A few minutes after that I received the eGiftcard from WalMart. The order is showing this morning as in process with expected delivery next week.
In and out of stock all morning. I was able to place an order during lunch. I used Discover shipping to my home...and just got the dreaded email cancelling, but get this, they only canceled the $75 gift card. I should have believed the previous posters and used cash! Now a couple of hours later both items show canceled, reason saying they could not verify my payment method. My credit card shows the charge pending and now a reversal pending. The Target route is sounding more promising.
Got it to work for me last night. Looks like it is still alive this morning with a $50 gift card, showing in stock now using the OP's link. This deal was searchable at WalMart.com yesterday at the $75 level, now neither appear to be coming up on the search.
Yesterday (Mon 16 Dec): My 1st order, around lunchtime - used Discover card - cancelled by WalMart 2nd order - afternoon- used Paypal with credit card - cancelled by WalMart 3rd order - evening - cash and ship to store no longer given as an option on checkout, I wanted to try that route as suggested hoping for sucess. So I tried Paypal cash from bank account. This third order stuck, no cancellation email, got the $75 gift card email about 30 minutes after placing order. Note that the gift card is only spendable on their website, not at B&M stores. (Note update to that by the next poster. That's why I love this community!)
Also, you may want to consider the EV3 education bundle that sells for $339 at legoeducation.us. It does not have the IR sensor and remote, but adds the ultrasound sensor (better depth perception) and gyro, rechargable batter pack and charger, less decorative pieces, more gears. The software is not included, but you can download the consumer software for free from LEGO.com and get the sensor plug-ins for the gyro and ultrasound. Less instant fun but looks like you get more useful parts for serious builders. Another route is to buy the consumer pack at WalMart and then buy the other sensors, battery pack and gears as desired, and use the education bundle instructions that are available online. This is what I plan to do. The kids get the instant gratification and I'll get to build the two-wheeled balancing robot spec'd in the education bundle that requires the gyro. Fun!
