I have had this refurbished TV since June. It's been a great TV. Only 90 day warranty. I left the TV on 24 hours a day for the first 29 days to test for problems.I paid $89.00 for the extended 3 year warranty after 29 days of ownership from WalMart. TV is not shipped from WalMart, but from the firm that refurbish the TV. Comes in a very large plain brown box. It took 2 days to reach The Pilot shipping company 30 miles away, it then took Pilot 5 more days for them to deliver it to me.
This is a beautiful set. Great picture, thin boarder, and super skinny. Solid built in apps too including Netflix and Skype (add on camera additional and only accepts a Vizio brand camera). I like Vizo products but the common complaint about them is that they do not repair them after the warranty is over. Many are offended by this fact but the reality is that replacement today usually costs less than repair. The extended warranty* is commonly just a reimbursement program should your set fail; more of an insurance policy than a warranty in my opinion but probably a good thing to buy since it only has 90 day warranty and the tv costs a significant amount of money. Still $699 + $89 for the warranty means it is only a $100 savings from buying it new at WalMart ($888) or BestBuy ($899). The new version comes with a one year warranty and that is usually doubled for free by your credit card company if paid in full on their card.
* Language found in WalMart's extended warranty details... "We may fulfill your claim by providing you with a new, remanufactured or refurbished product with similar features and functionality, or a WalMart Gift Card for the original purchase price of the product (including taxes)."
