While WalMart isn't on the list of "some participating merchants", I researched this deal and have found several accounts of this rebate being honored when the oil is purchased from WalMart. If you want to be absolutely sure before you make a purchase, this is the number from the rebate for customer questions: 1-866-895-9127.

I was thinking of trying Benney's just not sure of the price at this retailer.

They're on the list, so the rebate should work.

A year or so back there was a similar offer and I sent in a rebate from my WalMart purchase and my rebate submission was denied as not a participating retailer. From past experience I'd caution anyone from purchasing from a retailer not on the list and just because someone at their customer service line says it's ok doesn't count for much when you get denied.

Wal-Mart is not Listed as a participating retailer. You would think since they are about the biggest retailer in the country if they participated they would be on the list...

Also he rebate link in the OP just goes to the Mobil 1 site that tells you to pick up an original form at participating retailers. Not much help there either.

It would be a Hot deal at $10 and not too bad at $22 but I don't think this qualifies as a Hot Deal with all these issues.

I really would expect more from "STAFF"

Cheers.

There isn't even a rebate form. It is just a long list if rules.

I called the number and spoke to a Mobil customer service rep. She confirmed the rebate does work with WalMart. You can call the number 1-866-895-9127 for additional information.

I understand there is always an element of risk with a rebate, but hellokitty27 has researched this thoroughly over multiple sites. This deal has been confirmed to the best of our abilities. I understand if you still do not feel comfortable with this rebate, but please refrain from commenting on the capabilities of our staff.

What's the first rule of fatwallet?   hah.. nevermind.   Thank's for checking this out.

Why no rebate form ?

rated:
The rebate form from a previous offer I found online specifically says WalMart, Costco and most of the auto parts stores I frequent are not eligible. Does anyone have a scan of the current rebate offer form?

I just found a link to the rebate form. here it is.

If you read the rebate, it says "not valid" at several large retailers, including WalMart. I'd be leary of this offer. $22.66 is still a good deal at WalMart, even without the rebate.

rated:
Sorry guys but the Rebate receipt that timmytvong posted above (Thank You) says only valid at participating retail stores listed on Mobil.us/rebate. Guess who is not listed......

These are always rejected based on lots of experiences on the BITOG forums.

The terms state you have to buy the Mobil 1 filter as well as the oil.

I have never seen Mobil 1 filters at WalMart.

rated:
Have one of the official stores near me.  They want $35.99 for 5qts.  Even with the $12 rebate it is cheaper at WalMart and no hassle with rebates.

rated:
I called the rebate center MYSELF, they say it is not a complete list and WalMart IS a participating retailer.

Nope!  It's a $15 rebate if you also get an oil filter, or a $12 rebate if you don't.  So you have two options, one of which is just to buy the 5-qt oil and get a $12 rebate.

I called the mobil 1 rebate rep this morning and again confirmed that the list on Mobil 1s website IS NOT COMPLETE. WalMart IS a participating retailer. Call yourself if you're skeptical.

lol.  you can call and talk to all the reps.  but bottom line is if it's not on writing, then it's not going to work.  also, the list is complete and WalMart, costco, and SamsClub aren't on it.

Which form or web page are you reading that at?  I can't find that on the rebate form posted here or at the Mobil web page defining the rebate.  I know they're not in the list of "Some participating retailers" but that's not the same thing.

rated:
I had called Mobile rebate center 1-866-895-9127. Rep told me that Mobile oil purchase from wall mart is qualified.

rated:
If you read the rebate form, it says: "Some participating retailers include" To me this means that this is not a complete list and Rep maybe right.

rated:
When the first condition is "Purchase the eligible products at a participating retailer (listed below) between August 1, 2014, and October 31, 2014." and any WalMart or SAMS or Costco or Advance Auto Parts is not on the list, I would be fearful about getting this rebate. I know some have called, but without it in writing I think this is YMMV. Op should update title.

Two "staff" members have confirmed (and posted) that the rebate will work. If it doesn't, it's an easy class action against FW; plus an added bonus ... you can post it to the Class Action thread.

Pennzoil Ultimate Pure Synthetic has a $10 rebate but it does not start until 1 September and the form is on the jugs at WalMart.

I'm going to need the oil anyhow so I'll just give it a shot.

It ain't true if it ain't in writing.

Here are the T/C.

Limited to purchases made at participating retailers.

Wallie World ain't on the list. In fact, I didn't recognize any merchant except Tru Value.

Mobile 1 at these mom and pops stores are expensive. Not worth the drive plus rebate. Much cheaper at WM. Probably why the rebate is for participating small shops and not big boxes.

rated:
Just confirmed with the rebate center that WalMart IS a valid participant in the rebate.

rated:
No link but the rebate slip is on the jug. Does not start until 1 September.

rated:
I didn't call anyone but on the link to the rebate form, on the form it specifically EXCLUDES Sams and WalMart. Buyer beware.

Bought two 5 quart jugs of Mobil 1 at Wallyworld yesterday. The only Participating Retailer (none anywhere near me) on the list I recognize is Fred Meyer. I have a friend going shopping at Fred Myer today. He is going to see if they have the rebate forms. If so he will send me a couple. I am not really that concerned about the rebate as the price at WalMart is already cheap, $22.66 for the 5 quart jug.

Pennzoil also has a $10 rebate on Platinum and Ultra and WalMart is listed as participating. A 5 quart jut of either Pennzoil is also $22.66. Both are two rebates per customer.

I might also pick up some Pennzoil Ultra at WalMart since they both seem to be top shelf synhetics, matter of opinion as to which is better.

I will post my results.
