Armed Forces Day is more than One Day a Year for These Businesses

Every year on the third Saturday of May, Americans across the country celebrate Armed Forces Day to thank our military members for their sacrifice for our country. Falling at the tail end of Armed Forces Week, Armed Forces Day was created in 1949 to establish a single holiday rather than have separate days for the Army, Navy, Marine Corps and Air Force.

There are many businesses that do a great job of honoring our armed forces with deals on the big holidays such as Memorial Day, Fourth of July, and Veterans Day. Some businesses do an even better job of thanking our military like it is Veterans Day all year round.

In the spirit of Armed Forces Day, here are some of those businesses that celebrate military members on a regular basis.

Your car often breaks down at the most inopportune time but that doesn’t mean it has to break the bank. When you are in need of new brake pads or even a car seat, if you’re military, be sure to take advantage of 10% off at Autozone locations nationwide.

Whether you don’t feel like cooking or simply want to have a night out, why not take your spouse or entire family out to Applebee’s where you can get 10-20% off your dining bill?

Exercise Clothing and Shoes

It’s almost six months since New Year’s Day: How’s your weight loss resolution going? Perhaps you are in need of some new running shoes. Head on over to the Finish Line, Foot Locker or Lady Footlocker, which treats military members to a 20% discount on purchases.

The Happiest Place on Earth

Summer vacation is just around the corner. Pack up the kids and take the family to Disney World or Disneyland with a 4-Day Park Hopper ticket for $138 each for military members. For just $27 more you could add the Military Hopper pass and Water Parks, Fun and More. There may be a bigger discount if you contact your military base ticket office.

You may be able to save up to 40% off at Walt Disney World Resort hotels as well. To check for availability you should call the military personnel line at (407) 939-7830.

For greater detail on promotional guidelines please visit the Disney Military Sales website.

These are just a handful of businesses that say thanks to our military regularly. There are many resources that can help keep military members and their families up to date on the best military discounts and deals on a regular basis.

Thank you to all the military men and women!
