Black Friday Tip 10: Win a FatWallet Water Bottle

November 15, 2011 | Posted By: Heather Stephens | Categorized in: Shopping
There are 10 days until Black Friday 2011 and we're counting them down with money saving and holiday shopping tips.

Today's Tip:

Don't Forget to Drink

Water that is. :)

Running from the dry heat of the car into the dry heat inside a store that's crowded full of people, many of whom are sick is the perfect recipe for getting sick yourself.

Staying hydrated with water helps to keep your body strong to avoid colds and flu. Drinking enough water also helps to curb your appetite and keep your breath fresh (which we all will appreciate.)

So be sure to bring your reusable water bottle with you shopping on Black Friday and drink up. Oh, and if you're worried about having to go to the bathroom when you're standing in line, we suggest you wear an adult diaper on Black Friday.

Just kidding!

If you're going to 'camp out' and bring your sleeping bag and chair, be sure to bring a thermos of coffee (or two) and share with the people around you so they'll hold your place when you go to your car to put the gear away!

Black Friday is the best time of year to go to theme parks. Forget Thanksgiving and Christmas, personal greed wins over family during this special time of year.

I attended my VERY FIRST Black Friday sale with my sister last year. I had no idea what to expect except that the crowds would go crazy once the doors open up. I was up at 5am anxiously awaiting outside in the freezing cold for the door to open so I could get a dirt cheap laptop and tv. The minute the doors opened, I ran straight for the tv's that are normally stocked at the back of the store. I was so focused on getting to the TV's in the back that I ran straight past the TV's that they piled up in the center aisle. I ran like a madman right past it! Luckily, my Sister kept her eyes open and was able to get us the TV and laptop. Whew! I definitely recommend bringing at least one or several other people with you in order to plan out your strategy. Maybe, 1 person to stand in the humongous lines and several others to do the shopping for the group. Bring warm clothing if you expect to freeze your buns off waiting for the stores to open. Good luck and have fun! :) Happy Holidays!

Go to your local thrift store and see if you can find a Best Buy or other store uniform then just stand around looking official then jump in the mix when it all goes down.

2. Go in through the back door

3. Pretend like you're scanning, (when you're really relocating your items in one inconspicuous spot

4. Hide in the restroom till opening, (change back into street clothes) and...

5. Bring your items to the nearest register!

Go in a wheelchair. Some people will feel sorry for you, but mostly you are a significant barrier that people can't get around (and hey, you don't have to stand) Better yet, go with 3 wheelchairs and block entire aisles while you shop.

i suggest you fake a heart attack or some sort of commotion when you go into the store so u can draw attention to it as well as block the way for other people and have an accomplice go get the stuff you want. then u have a speedy recovery and get into the check out line so u don't have to wait when ur accomplice gets back.

Hype a sale to a friend, make a date to meet them early, show up 15 minutes before doors open with the excuse. Examples:

"The power went off"
"My alarm failed"
The cat (dog) kicked the alrm off the night stand"
"I forgot to recharge ... (whatever other device you use for an alarm)"

I used to coach my kid sister to say "MOMMY, I HAVE TO PEE, WAHHH, I NEED TO POTTY NOWWWW" and crowds at the mall would part like the Red Sea.
