Alright, so maybe I’ve been playing a little too much Family Feud on my iPhone lately. That game can get rather addicting (even worse than Words with Friends for me!). I could probably come up with more than 10 for this list. Coupons are usually easy to find for these items, and you can almost always find them on sale some place.

What do you do if you’ve got a stack of expired coupons and you’ve got a few coupons left in your inserts that you probably won’t end up using either. Rather than toss them into the recycling bin, here are a few options.

It happened a few months ago- though my ego wanted to deny it- the writing was on the wall, I was becoming my mother. For years now my mother has been using the lingo, you know how it goes- GDA (good deal alert) IVC (instant value coupon) and the ultimate- DOUBLE COUPON- aka a coupon where the grocery store recognizes the coupon as ‘double’ in value.
I am a member of the coupon fan club. The clever person who had the foresight to see past our economic depressions and dream that the coupon business could bring so much joy and satisfaction should stand up and take a bow.

This past week, my husband was home for a few days for his school’s Easter break, so I decided to send him to the store with our two boys to do our grocery shopping for the week. This past weekend my husband was out of town on business, which meant there was really no other option than to take my kids with me grocery shopping. After the disaster trip we took last week, when I almost walked out of the store, this week we headed to the store with a whole new attitude.
Here are a few things I did to keep my kids involved while we were in the store:

When I first started couponing almost four years ago, I definitely made my share of mistakes! Fortunately, I learned a lot from those mistakes and steadily increased the amount of money I’ve saved with coupons. In 2011, I saved almost $7,000! If you are a “Coupon Newbie,” I’ve got great news for you – you don’t have to make the same mistakes that I did! Rather than learning these lessons the hard way, why not learn from my mistakes and start saving more money, time, and stress?

Last week I was crunched for time to get ready for my son’s 5th birthday party. I didn’t work on Friday, so I decided after preschool, I would take the boys with me to do some coupon shopping and finish buying things for his party. This turned out to be a big mistake on my part. I ended up really stressing out as we made our way through the stores.
On our way home I came up with this list of things you should NOT do when grocery shopping with your children.

Many people will tell me that they don’t have time to coupon shop, and for some of people that may be somewhat true (remember though, I really only spend 2-3 hours a week getting ready for my shopping trips, and then about another hour or so actually doing my shopping.) With the cost of gas expected to continue to rise in upcoming months, who isn’t looking to save a little more on their groceries each week? The truth is you can still save money on groceries even without coupons (but I can tell you using coupons has made a huge difference in my grocery budget!)

Are you overwhelmed with couponing because you struggle to find the coupons you need when you want to use them?
Since I started coupon shopping, I’ve gone from having an envelope stuffed with coupons, to an index file stuffed with coupons, to a binder which is also stuffed with coupons . In my opinion there’s really no “right way” to have your coupons organized. You’ll figure out as you go what works best for you. Here are some simple coupon organizing tips...
