Best of Black Friday Deals 2013Cyber Monday was the biggest online shopping day in history last year (2012-CNET). Consumers spent almost $1.5 billion (up 17% from 2011-ComScore) as many retailers started their Cyber Monday events early on Sunday, and carried the theme (Cyber Days, Cyber Week, etc.) through the following week. Shoppers used mobile devices like never before (12.9% total sales-IBM Benchmark). A new survey reports that almost half (48%) of those surveyed plan to shop on Cyber Monday 2013, with more than half planning to spend more this year. Also, more than 60% surveyed under the age of 40 plan to shop Cyber Monday while more than 60% of “Boomers” say they will not.

This national survey, conducted online by TNS Global on behalf of FatWallet.com in October 2013, reports that almost half (48%) of those surveyed plan to shop on Cyber Monday 2013, with more than half planning to spend more this year. Also, more than 60% surveyed under the age of 40 plan to shop Cyber Monday while more than 60% of “Boomers” say they will not. Unlike years past, shoppers indicated they will look to buy more tablets and smartphones than TVs and laptops this year, and 34% say they will shop for gadgets. And as our Cyber Monday predictions agree, 55% will look for store-wide discounts on Dec. 2.
