Holiday Shopping Tip 43: Simplified Shipping

There are 43 days until Black Friday 2011 and we're counting them down with money saving and holiday shopping tips.

Simplify Your Shipping

Who else hates standing in line at the post office? I usually find myself there at the worst times of the day when the lines are huge, I've got 3 kids hanging on me and I'm rushing to get somewhere else.

During the holidays it gets worse. So let's simplify holiday shipping!

1. We've already talked about shopping for out of town relatives at stores that offer free shipping. It can't get any easier than this.


2. Ship from work. Some companies will ship your package for you if you pay the postage. Check into this to see if your company offers it.

3. If you have to ship something yourself, try the USPS online postage option and schedule a carrier to pick the packages up at your door. Priority mail is easy and inexpensive if you use the provided flat-rate boxes from the post office. They'll even deliver the free boxes to your door if you request them.
