You may also want to invest in a handheld shower head; these expendable shower heads make it easier to wash your pet in the bath tub. By grooming your pet yourself, you will save a considerable amount of money each year, plus it helps you bond with your pet.

Dollar Stores

While Dollar Stores may not have the proper, nutritional dog food that you need for your pet, they are a great source for cheap pet toys. Why spend $10 – $20 on a single toy that will only last a few weeks? You can get 10 – 20 toys from the Dollar Store for that much and your pet will be much happier because they’ll have such a larger selection of entertainment.

Buy in Bulk

You’ll be surprised at how much money you’ll save just by buying in bulk from discount retailers. This is a great way to stock up on pet food and other supplies that don’t expire. With pet food, you can transfer it to airtight containers so that it will stay fresh much longer. It’s also a good idea to buy dry food since it’s much cheaper than wet food. You can save the wet food as an occasional treat for good behavior.

Portion Control

Your pet is going to eat as much as you give them; they have no comprehension of portion control or saving some for later. So, it’s important that you control their portions for them.
