When I think of going somewhere for a vacation, the next logical question pops in my head: How am I going to get there? If it's far, then I'll have to book a plane ticket. If it's under a certain amount of hours, I'll hop in the car. If I can't take my car because it's making evil rumbling noises, then I'll take the bus. However, I've never considered taking a train like Amtrack to get to a far destination. I think it takes a certain kind of person who is patient and adventurous to choose that form of transportation. Personally, I'm not sure I can handle a 18 hour train ride. However, there is more room to move around and get up versus a tight aircraft.
How about you? Have you ever been on a long train ride somewhere? I'm sure it would be nice, because you are able to see so much of the landscape surrounding. If you live in the Northeast, Amtrack is featuring a 3-Day Sale.
Some of those low fares include:
- DC or Baltimore to Philly - $25
- DC to Richmond $19
