4GB is too little to do anything these days. You can open 1 or 2 tabs at most in your browser. Anything more than 2 tabs, the machine slows to a crawl and is completely unusable. I even upgraded my Chromebook to 12GB. Lots of tabs with no slow down!
I disagree about 4 GB being "insufficient". I have a mid-2011 Macbook Air with 4 GB of memory. It's working just fine for web surfing, LibreOffice, and those sort of things. I have not experienced any sluggishness on this system.
Obviously knows nothing about computers. 4gb is PLENTY for almost all users (Windows or Mac). I am typing on a Macbook Air 13in with 4gb and I manage to have 5 tabs open with Steam and Skyrim open without slowdown.
I just reread your comment and I hope you were just kidding because a chromebook of any kind needs less than productive computers like PC's or Macs.

Maybe you should actually try one of these new-fangled computer things before giving out ridiculous advice?
