Who cares.  NT01 Nittos won't last that long on track.  LOL

Great!! eBay charges sales tax on pre discount price. Who would have thought...

Bought set of 4 summer tires for my wife's car, a set of snow tires, and a set of rims for the snow tires. In for $859 after all the rebates, but it's hard to beat a deal like that.

Can anyone recommend a all season tire for use in snow? I live at the base of Mt. Washington and need something that will go in the snow. I do not want to purchase snow tires. My vehicle is a Camry XLE

you have to have snow tires living there, - better be safe than sorry.

I am checking for availability for a 19's Nitto NT 421Q but none of the stores have it. Anyone knows how fast do they get those tires on their inventory?

rated:
Checked their website and I can get the tires at the local discount tires for the same price as the eBay price minus the $100 code. Plus the store will usually work with me on price. They've price matched TireRack for me in the past.

WalMart does the installation, new valve stems, computerized balancing + life time rotation and flat repair for $12 per tire.

With Opus on this , the prices after the "fantastic discount" are maybe $20 less than TireRack.

i am used to companies charging pre-discount and pre-coupon prices. if it happened otherwise, i didn't notice

i am also used to tipping pre-coupon, altho that doesn't apply here

Unless you have to pay for shipping, which depending on your location adds $15-$20 extra per tire.

Good deal. Got 2 Continental run flat for my car. Dealer is $350 a piece and best I can do from TireRack is $596 shipped. Ordered here for $514 shipped.

Looks like the eBay tires have the replacement certificates for road hazard, compared to the discounttiredirect website its still cheeper on eBay but the discount isnt as big as it appears because youre forced to buy the "road hazard" on eBay

Look again.. Some auctions come WITH the certificates, others don't (for the same tire).

Correct.  Not road hazard on the tires I ordered.  The only problem I have with this eBay deal is that it said the tires I selected doesn't fit the vehicle I entered.  Same tires on DiscountTire comes up when I put that vehicle in so I wouldn't not count on the vehicle fit feature on eBay.

im sure this price does not include newer cars that require TPMS rebuild.

Does anyone know if 2 reciepts (2 tires each - mine are diff sizes) would qualify for the $60 rebate ?

rated:
Good deal but not all sizes are available or lower cost through this deal. My size is actually cheaper through TireRack even when you factor in TireRack's shipping charges.

Skmerro, the General AltiMax RT34 got good reviews from consumer ratings and on Tire Rack for general use and some people even commented that they had surprisingly good handling in snow and ice. Some others mentioned 70k miles on regularly maintained rotations. Sounds like a winner for AS tires to me!

The price on these before the discount compared to Tire Rack is pretty much the same so it does come out to a good deal.

rated:
Thanks Jake but I see no TR34. I do see RT43 but these do not have any customer reviews.  Funny thing is these are the tires I have right now.  My Dh says noo as they are a directional tire.

I would probably buy a set but I refuse to deal with eBay. Why on earth are they using eBay instead of their website that already works?

the eBay site has very good rating. so i guess it is okay

If it makes you feel better, I got an invoice from DiscountTire for my purchase.  eBay is just their store front and the invoice actually does not show the $100 discount but my payment was $100 less

Thanks OP. Got some Nankang (Chinese) rubber for my Durango, with certificates for $384 delivered. $131 less than Discount's web site. (incl. tax I seem to have avoided)

I bought Four Goodyear tires from them for $412 less the $100 on eBay. They just sent me an email, saying that they had low stock and could not ship them. They tried to upsell me to a different tire that did not qualify for the $100 discount nor the $60 rebate. They told me I could wait for more to come in but it would take 10 - 15 days from Goodyear plus 4 - 6 days for UPS. I asked for a refund. Let's see how fast it will take them to return my money. I will not do business with companies that do bait and switch.

sandy, sorry that i had an observation that went against what you would have wanted. maybe next time i can not have an observation or just blindly agree (somehow) to avoid mysterious redding

incidentally a cursory googling shows that it depends on the state. so i guess if i've been in states where they do it pre-discount then i of course would have that experience

I wouldn't call that bait and switch.  If they have low stock, hey, it happens.  Looks like they offered to give you the deal you paid for but you'd have to wait 2-3 weeks.  I can understand if you don't want to wait but that's not bait and switch.

Same thing here. But when I check on discounttiredirect .com, they come up as tires for my vehicle. Guess I could just order them.

Same here. Ordering rims. It gives no mention of the hub bore and it says that it doesn't fit my vehicle. The website listed the same model and it does fit. I did my cross referencing myself and I just went ahead and ordered the rims. You don't get free hubcentric rings on the eBay site like you do on the website. On the other hand, I found a set of black rims for 371. Added the black lugs for 45 and ended up at $416. With discount, shipped, I'm in it for $316 and I ordered hubcentric rings from another eBay store as the correct rings weren't offered on the DiscountTire eBay store. So all in I am at $335 for a new set of shoes I didn't really need. Hopefully my girlfriend thinks I'm cooler now...

The RT43's are not directional. The older RT's are.

But yea the RT43's are a good all season tire. I have the older version on my MiL's car, the directional ones.
The Cooper CS5 Ultra touring are also a good all season tire. Just got 4 of those for my BiL's car.
