Best baby monitor I found. Recommended from a friend, and a number of other friends with infants have it and love it. Yes, it's cheap. But yes, it also works great and beats a $300 baby monitor that comes with a separate video viewing screen. Plenty of cheap apps for viewing/controlling the camera from your phone.
I have about six of these installed across three different states purchased both new and used from a variety of vendors and all mostly in the $70+ range from earlier this year --- haven't had a failure yet. One is installed outdoors at my Arizona house under an eave where I can monitor my backyard sliding patio door and see exactly when my pool service comes and goes (and for how long). Been fun reminding the housecleaning staff to close the screen door or put other things away, monitor the house for activity through the motion sensor (get false alerts at sunrise and sunset due to changing light conditions), see how houseguests are treating my rental, and keeping an eye on my parents. Have a couple waiting to be installed on my next visit to check on the garage doors and see how my landscaper is handling the front yard. I can easily recommend these for the price and capabilities (VGA resolution but plenty good for my application - have found the 720p HD to be not much better) and can do my monitoring from my IPhone using the free Foscam app as well as my Nexus 7 tablet with the Android version. Installed the Android app on my sister's phone too so she can see what my parents are up to also (lives about 45 min away whereas I'm on the opposite coast).
this is a great deal. Just bought 3 more. Have two that's been running for the last six months. Quality is better than my expectations. I caught the little menace next door which keeps flipping up my garage door keypad cover and check what days my gardener is showing up.
dealsintown said: These are piece of junk. I bought 4 of them last year. 2 has broken within one year. They won't honor manufacturer's warranty if you buy from eBay. I disagree with the first part of this. These are actually quite capable cameras, especially for the price. The few that I have so far have been running full time for about 2 years without any major issue. That said, it is true, as I've read on the Amazon.com reviews that Foscam doesn't honor the warranty unless you purchased from them directly, or from an "authorized dealer". AdoramaIS one of their authorized dealers, so even though this is though eBay it should be fine.
I have purchased 8 of these for myself and friends over the past 4 years and they all still work (most are being used for baby monitors, some for property surveillance). If you're looking for a high quality camera then this is not for you. If you want something cheap and functional, this is a really tough deal to beat.
