If you like gaming, or any semblance of retro gaming, then this is a MUST BUY.  I grew up playing Sega Genesis/Nintendo, but I would never pay 100+ dollars for an old console and used, dated games.  This is a one time purchase that includes 100 games on the internal memory, and it's portable!  The features are listed below, click the link for a partial game list.  Please leave green feedback and post if you purchase!

Thanx, picking it up now.

Found this nice little tip from an Amazon review. Expand this to 100's of free games.

**Note for Roms on SD's**
If you plan on installing roms on an SD card, make sure it is an 'SD' card and not an SDHC with an adaptor, as not all will work. To give you an idea, a 512 megabyte SD card will hold about 200-250 roms depending on the size. So don't waste your money looking for a 8gig. The SD card must be formatted in FAT mode from your PC. Create a folder on the SD card called "Game". Place all your roms in that folder. Only .BIN format is accepted. So if you have .SMD format, don't just rename it, google "SBWin" to convert your .smd files to .bin. Don't expect everything you put on here to work, as with any emulator, some roms just won't work. But keep looking, there is usually patches to get those roms to work. Enjoy, and hope this helps

seodude, thank you for the wonderful contribution. I will be following these steps for sure. Thanks!

EDIT: Altanis, the covert alt strikes again.  Zero Contributions, Zero Positive Votes, Zero Posts/Replies.  Hmm...

Are these ROM's legal? Let's be honest here. Does anyone believe that the makers of a $35 product, really paid for the licenses of many products from Disney and Marvel Comics, not to mention Addams Family, James Bond, Indiana Jones, the NBA and more? And if those games were so easy to license now, then why aren't any of those games available from Sega now? Note that none of those games are listed on the version sold on Amazon.(I'd love to play the original Sega X-Men games or Aladdin on the PC!)

If not, then the entire product is illegal. If you're just going to pirate games illegally, you might as well do it on the PC, without giving the thieves $35. (For the record, I have no problem with piracy, as long as people aren't profiting off of the work of others -- which this seems to be.)

Never seen this but very interesting. Didn't know Sega still make hardware.

They don't, this isn't an official Sega release.  You'll see these everywhere now that the 20 year patent life is expiring on a lot of these retro gaming consoles.  That's why you can buy cheap knock offs for NES, SNES, Sega, and such...

Sega still owns the trademarks to their creations, but they no longer have the exclusive rights on the technology.

Actually it's made by AtGames which is a Sega licensor. It's not clear if this particular product is Sega-licensed, but this isn't what I'd call a "gray market" product.

Sega gave up long ago fighting Genesis ROM piracy. I own all the old games I could buy and I buy the excellent Christian Whitehead remakes of Sonic CD, Sonic 1, and Sonic 2 on iOS and Android. Sonic CD is also on Steam (Sonic 1 & 2 CW remakes can't be released for PC because Sega stupidly sold the rights to another company, so we're all stuck waiting for that contract to expire).

from Amazon review
This system is incredible. Cheap but built sturdy. The games are excellent emulations and the screen is bright and clear. The Genesis games that are built in are great. My only complaint is the screen is a bit small, about the size of the original gameboy from the late 80's. #1 problem is no save feature!
If you want to play Genesis ROMS on this system: Use a 2GB SD card. The higher GB cards don't seem to work. You can fit a ton of them on a 2GB card though. Go to "the old computer . com" to download a Megadrive/Gensis ROM. Go to your Downloads on your computer. Insert the SD Card into your computer. Create a new folder and name it GAMES. Before you put the ROM on to the SD Card open the ROM folder then drag over the file to the SD card. Put the card into the portable Genesis. When the games menu comes up push D-pad to the left then hit start to access the SD card. Select your game and press Start. For whatever reason "the old computer . com" has the only ROMS that I have been able to use. Been playing The Punisher and Tecmo Super Bowl like crazy. Only one of the ROMS I have tried doesn't work so far (Williams Arcade Classics). I hope this helps!

I wish that this could possibly be modified to run a custom OS should it could run NES games.  SNES games would be out because there aren't enough buttons.

Like stated earlier, patents and software code expire. These games are pretty much open for tinkering, and some can even be played in your web browser. This is not a Sega console, and this is not an illegal device. The source code for most retro games are open for all. Sony and Microsoft pay tons and tons of money to renew their licenses for old franchises. Nintendo doesn't really have to because they are not western and piracy is different in Asia. This is why Sega and Nintendo consoles are portable and re-created so much these days. There are consoles that play NES, SNES, Genesis, and SegaCD games all-in-one. Please don't think that this is illegal or you are doing Sega any harm. If anyone was taken to court for this, it would be the console creator (Neogames), not the individual players...and I assure you that it will NEVER happen. They have done it for years. Enjoy!

I'm sure someone technically saavy enough could do this, but I'm sure it would break your 30 day warranty from Neogames.  It's only 35 bucks so it would be worth tinkering with if you knew someone capable of such a feat.  It's just a piece of hardware so I'm sure the right person could make this run many different consoles, maybe even GameBoy, NES/SNES or GameGear games.  Either way, mine should be here Monday, hopefully it works well right out of the box.

  Yep, another nut job troll.

Just a quick note about this. I'm pretty sure that games that had a battery backup save function will not be able to save the game on this device.

Rechargeable battery?

rated:
Yes the battery is rechargeable via the USB cable. This deal is dead, but these are still available via other eBay auctions for $32.50:
