hmmmm these keep coming up on Newegg via eBay....

Newegg directly would be better for coupons/CashBack...

Got this from Newegg/eBay a few weeks ago...works great, especially the 3D (I bought two sets of glasses online).

I use it in my kitchen, with a cable TV box.

It takes awhile to start up when you turn it on...at first I thought it was broken when it didn't start right away. You can set it to start instantly, but that uses more electricity.

Picture is not as contrasty as I would like (blacks aren't black enough even though I've played with the settings).

No remote or 3D glasses included, both cost around $20 each, available online.

Otherwise, it's definitely worth $100! (this monitor sold for $500 when it first came out.)

3D work well w/ a small screen?

Yes, it's an active shutter system, which cuts the brightness of the picture a bit, but I thought the 3D effect was very good.

Best Buy sold this brand new for $99 two years ago.

Man, reviews show that this is throwing $99 into the wind. Plus it has all those playstation logos on it. I like Sony products fine but no thanks it is a toy that will break. I want an actual computer monitor. Prices on this stuff always come down.

Where do you get a 24" 1080p 240hz LED monitor with integrated speaker for $99?

Some n00b questions:

1. Can you watch 3d movies on this? Don't know if the ps3 can play 3d dvd movies.

2. Does this monitor support a remote or came with a remote? If so, will the playstation 3 remote work with this?

3. Does it need special 3d glasses or are there generic ones that will work? Will the 3d glasses that I got from watching Captain America during the premier work with this? It is blue on one side and red on the other side.

2 of these are probably previously mine since they are refurbs.... Lots of issues, worked for a couple weeks then never turned on, exchanged and had same problem. Just FYI for everyone.

1. yeap (with a ps3 or 3d bluray player), but this doesn't come with a pair of the glasses like in the original new package
2. no remote comes with it, but supports ps3 remote (or any universal remote with Sony codes); i have mine hooked up to a Samsung player, works great
3. these are active shutter glasses, with infrared sensors, so no, the reald/imax ones you get during a typical theater movie are not going to work, nor will anaglyph (red/cyan) glasses work
hope this helps!

If you buy this one, get the SquareTrade warranty... massively high failure rate.

That response can be funny when the poster is negging a deal because there was a hotter one at some time in the past.  In this case, I believe his point was a friendly warning not to be suckered in by the "was $500" part of this "deal."

i was one of those people who didn't use a time machine and got in on the best buy deal.  in retrospect i maybe should've bought two, and resold the second.  i did sell the game that came with it, however, and did not opt for the extended warranty.

to be fair, i guess i'm one of the lucky ones (knocking on wood) that has had it working flawlessly, though i only use it a few times a week at most, one hdmi hooked up to a Samsung blu-ray 3d player, the other my laptop, for a few hours at a time.  the only time i had an issue was with the audio in pacific rim 3d dropping out in the last third or so of the movie; googled a few solutions that didn't work (change audio output from PCM), but switching to another audio track then back would fix it temporarily.
