edit on grammar
But, their warranties (dunno about the rebates) are controlled by an outside company. Even if they go completely under, the outside company is still going to honor them. As far as the rebates, if its a CC rebate, it still has to be paid for by CC to the rebate company. I don't know when the payment to the rebate company is made, but I would wager that if CC doesn't hand money over, the rebate checks aren't going out. As far as the warranties - what happened with CompUSA? Was the the warranty company that went out of business that caused all the problems, or was it CompUSA that went out of business causing problems with the warranties? I know CUSA went out of business, but I remember that before they finally did, there was a huge problem with warranties. Might want to use that as a gauge. Additionally, you may also want to look at the warranty procedure to see what you are allowed to do on your own. If the warranty states that any defective merchandise has to be "inspected" by CC and you can't send the item in on your own, then the warranty may be worthless. BTW, I'm talking about service plans and additional warranties, not MFR warranties. |

Only place left we can hope for is Fry's Electronics. But for some reason, I doubt that Fry's will be that much better. All the stores usually have similiar pricing when it comes to electronics... |

true. just wondering if that is a good price. actually, Sears has it for $899 - 5% VIP discount (-$45) + tax on 11/16 VIP night. anyone know if this 400 series is a good TV? I've seen it and it looks good, just like the 450. However, it is still a 4 series (no problem with the 720p for me though). |

Yup skipping this, and I would be nervous about buying from someplace going into bankruptcy anyway, sort of hard to return something to someplace that does not exist. |

What are they thinking? They need very good sales on this season and look the deal they offer. They gonna screwup their holiday sales. Staples also don't have good deal on this season too. May be I should line up at Frys |

I was hoping or a decent HDTV deal...50" or bigger....but looks like nothing is going to be priced well enough. Seems to me that 2 years ago you could find cheaper black friday TV's, am i wrong??? Also, haven't we all been told that we should see falling TV prices for the last 12 months or so. I see a small discounts, but no real big discounts that would make deals amazing......I am turning my focus to 65" DLP's now.....where is the cheapest one???? |

Last year I was able to get a 32" TV at CC for $400 (I used a $300 GC.) This year they are selling it for $450 while other stores are selling it for $400. What gives? |

Necromancer said:2008 BLACK FRIDAY IS THE WORST FRIDAY IN THE HISTORY OF THE UNIVERSE! Agreed. I'm going to wait for the hangover that the retailers will wake up with to in 2009. Zero cc balances, my wallet is going to love me. Thanks for the memories Circuit City, Best Buy, Staples and Co. |

SimpleD30s said:Do not rely on their rebates guys... remember, they just filed bankruptcy...That is a ridiculous comment and shows that you nothing about the bankruptcy process. When the company files for bankruptcy, the books are wiped clean -- they have new money and you are pretty much guaranteed payment. If not (and if what you were suggesting is true), then none of their suppliers would be sending them new stock. The people who should be worried about their rebates are those who submitted them BEFORE they filed. |

The ad looks pretty decent. Too bad I HATE my local CC on BF. They have multiple lines (each for a single register). Their registers (still the old ones) are painfully slow and you can end up on line forever. The only good thing is that since they have gotten rid of most rebates, the registers won't be spending time printing those (which can take 30 seconds each). Contrast that to the local BB which has a single line looping the floor and moves fairly quickly. And of course being CC, the sale prices on DVD's won't be online. |

Man, ALL I wanted this black friday was a new video card to play Left 4 Dead and a new SATA hard drive because I'm out of space. Seems that all stores have completely stopped caring about these type of items and gone solely for the TV/GPS/Laptop/Camera crowd. I suppose I don't blame them, business is business, but gah - black friday USED to be awesome for video cards. Now I'm sad. |

In this ad, they are advertising the Mitsu 65" DLP for $1199. That's the lowest I've seen it as around here B&M has it for $1500. |
