so would instant rebate or free shipping or those special offers on HP counts as "separate discount"? this sounds too good to be true and kinda risky... There hasn't been a laptop on HP's site in the last 3-4 months that I've been checking that hasn't had an instant rebate when you put it in your cart. HP is currently 25% off with Live.com and the instant rebates are on all the laptops, haven't checked desktops. HP had a 25% sale over Labor Day and I didn't see anyone post that they didn't get their CB if they didn't violate the TOS. |

LordB said:This looks very very hot presuming the same specs etc are kept for the computers (or maybe even a bit better specs.) I'm looking at a fairly good laptop for $400 thats better than anything else i've seen out there. I'm assuming instant rebates etc would continue to work. Are you looking at the DV5? FW had a link to the Intel model this morning and it's dirt cheap before the rebate - if the price and specs are in place with the link tomorrow it's a superb deal. I have a friend who only uses the laptop for mild internet use and mail and this is perfect. I'm even thinking of getting this model for myself instead of the more expensive upgrade I was planning. I'll see if I can find the link on my other computer and post it. |

My name is Shirley. How are you doing today?" 11/27/2008 01:38:40PM Seth: "Grand. I was wondering about the Black Friday HP/Live.com 40% coupon, if it will add to the Instant Rebates on most PCs or will it replace it?" 11/27/2008 01:39:18PM Agent (Shirley G.): "I understand that you are inquiring about the instant rebate and the Black Friday live.com 40 % rebate. HP is committed to customer satisfaction. I will be glad to assist you with your concern." 11/27/2008 01:39:32PM Agent (Shirley G.): "Seth, the it will replace the instant rebate." 11/27/2008 01:39:59PM Seth: "Thank you very much!" 11/27/2008 01:40:04PM Session Ended
So if your PC comes to say, $1599.99 , You will be putting $1599.99 on your credit card. 60 Days later, when the CashBack approves you, you should get $640. Amirite? If you use the 25% off link today it's not replacing the instant rebate. I don't think we'll know for sure till tomorrow. |

BTW - if you're thinking of buying a few computers for resale, you're going to get flagged and you will not end up getting the CB. Don't be a pig about it and get your computer. |

Alot of those items on the HP site have "instant rebates" applied to them...theoretically, this would invalidate or make ineligible for the live.com CashBack offer if you read the terms. Anyone got their 25% CashBack on an item that has an instant rebate on it? |

I am assuming that the CashBack will calculate the 40% after the instant rebates. So it would be 579*.6= $347 +tax otd 579*.6 is wrong. 579 is the price after 150 rebate I try to buy it just now, when I arrive at last step it shows total price is 729.99 ( $150 rebate) so you have to pay 729.99 now if 40% works tomorrow it become 729.99*0.6=437.994 if $150 rabate, it become 437.994-150=287.994

So it would be 579*.6= $347 +tax otd this is the way they did it in the past during the Labor Day and other Live.com special promotions, since every computer has an instant rebate. I would think at worst they'd deduct the instant rebate, but I have never heard of them just giving part of the deal, either it's all or they would totally reject it. This is a huge promotion, it's currently at 25% off, how could they deny everyone CashBack when every computer has an instant rebate that they put there. |

but could what is instant rebate? I know that regular rebate is like this: you download a PDF and fill it, then send it to the company with some code from the good, they will mail you a check in 1 or 2 months. So what is instant rebate? deduct the money immediately when I purchase? which one of the following is correct? 1st 579.99 * 0.6 2nd (579.99+150) * 0.6 - 150 |

Sorry, I made a mistake what you said may be correct the last step shows: Price $729.99* Instant rebate -$150.00 Mail-in rebate -$0.00 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Total: $579.99 You saved 20.5% if 40% works it become 579.99 * 0.6 = 345
is there any tax? I am in FL |

2nd (579.99+150) * 0.6 - 150 The instant rebate is where the DV5 computer I linked above is 729 and there's a $150 instant rebate - that deducts the $150 in your cart before purchase. |
