I think HP just officially committed false advertizing..... now if you pull up the same ad it no longer says "40% off all purchases" ...... pathetic....

Looks like the 40% number is gone. Pathetic on MSFT's part.

Given that the instant rebate itself works out to be arnd 25% on most products on HP's web-site, and include the bundled savings, 40% is not a stretch. The 40% CashBack by itself might not be that attractive, since we are giving away money for free for a couple of months. And given the credit crises, one thing I have realized is that CASH IS KING. Plus there's a decent chance that we don't meet all the conditions to qualify for the CB and get screwed big time.

Look around. I am looking to buy a lappy, and the deals offered by others work out to be abt 10-20 bucks higher than this 40% only CB. And retailers this season need to make large volumes of sales. I am pretty sure that price cuts have just started and will get deeper as we approach the year end. Don't buy in haste, there will be plenty

how do i get Cash Back from live? when i made eBay purchases in the past 40% Cash Back was clearly listed in the checkout cart. I cant find it listed anywhere on HP after u click on the link. thanks
