An email showed up in my inbox about an hour ago with the subject line, "OfficeMax black friday weekend ad"
I've attached the PDF which is either a very in-progress version of the advertisement or a fake. I'm leaning towards the latter, mostly due to the multiple spelling errors ("consule" instead of "console" on the last page) and the inclusion of items such as the Slap Chop, Snuggie and Breathalyzer.
However pretty much all of the item SKU #'s line up with OfficeMax offerings, the prices aren't out of the ordinary and if this is a true fake, someone has way too much time on their hands.

Did a search for the Compaq computer's SKU on the OM site - regular price is $9999.99. Could be a Office Max custom machine for Black Friday... but the rest looks fishy. The Magellan GPS is discontinued according to the OM site.

All the office supply stores are selling the as seen on TV items nowadays along with a lot of other retail stores. It wasn't the fact that they are selling them that I found hard to believe, but rather the price ($5 for $20 item).

Can you buy the netbook a few days early and then get a price adjustment during BF? They probably will hold all the available $150 netbooks off the floor in order to have sufficient quantities to support the BF ad, so you probably won't be allowed to buy it before then.
Vince has his share of legal problems involving a Florida female entrepeneur in a hotel room. Likely he needs to raise cash fast, he blew out the inventory to Omax.
shank said:Some of the items seem fake - I don't buy the $150 netbook or $49 Microsoft Office.
New microsoft office coming out to have very limited "software" and be mostly online content (like Google Apps). $49 seems entirely within reason even without a purchase as that is the rumored office 2010 price.
