here's a link to their black friday specials - including deals on saturday and sunday http://www.ikeafans.com/home/black-friday-sale-at-ikea-2009-bargains-deals-and-specials/
this info is provided to IKEAFANS straight from sources at IKEA
Googling the Karlsvik sofa, it seems like the only reference to such a sofa is from this rumored ad. Are we sure it's not the Karlstad sofa? Even so, $199 seems like a lofty discount, considering it's normally $599.

Normally $399. http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/S09840535 Still a very good discount.

only the white one is $399 originally, the other colors are $499 and two are $599. Is this sale on all colors or just white?
i see what happened, i selected a color and then looked at the price. so yes, that rumored ad was misspelled. i'd bet it's only the white one. you can buy additional covers for the sofa.

My bad. I guess now they DO have a Karlsvik Sofa. It doesn't show up if you search for it at IKEA.com. Must be a new model?
boujie said:how is Ikea on Black Friday? Not as bad as BestBuy etc.
boujie said:is it a mad house Yes, just like everywhere else.
boujie said:(impossible to get good deals)?? No, entirely possible to get good deals. This year there might be some competition to get the Bekvam kitchen cart. It's a popular item for IKEA hacks and 67% off regular price.
Just keep in mind that the IKEA return policy is quite abusive - there are no returns on anything "used" and their definition of used is "assembled." So basically, if you take something out of its box, it's yours. Make sure you want it and that it fits in your space.
The stores are always so clean and bright and they always have what you want and more.
It's a great place to take kids and make a day of shopping and you just cannot beat the prices or more importantly the fact that you can have your new furniture in a few hours, not a few weeks.
My definition of "absolute best retailer" includes "honest and upfront about their policies."
By way of analogy, if I am a Keebler elf and I offer you a complete satisfaction guarantee on my cookies, simply return them unused - you might rightfully wonder what, exactly, this satisfaction policy is all about - satisfaction with the exterior of the box of cookies?

I don't know you are talking about. Suspect you don't either.
IKEA is the best retailer out there. They are honest with their customers and sell quality goods with a true "value for money" concept that most American retailers have long since abandoned.

I stood in line once for 30-40 minutes waiting to return something only to find out that my wife gave me the wrong receipt. I know what the return policy is but was hoping for some leeway but found out after a borderline argument with a manager that they don't. The worse part is they know they're one of the few games in town and have that "take it or leave it" attitude in all their responses. They said they can't prove that I bought it there...where else do I get some sheets that say Ikea on the packaging?
Either way, I stormed off extremely pissed only to find my wife who quickly gave me the correct receipt...
You have now made two ad hominem attacks against me and managed to make serious grammatical errors in both. Good day sir.
I will say it one more time: Do not go to IKEA on black Friday and buy something with the thought that "maybe I'll return it if it turns out I don't like it." That policy does not exist at IKEA for the vast majority of their items in the way in which you would think it does. Caveat emptor.
PeakMaster Spoke Thusly: Anyone that bitches about IKEA is LOSER!! I don't know you are talking about.
