I think this is useless without prices.

A list of items you can't buy. Awesome.

Wonder what the 52" Aquos is going to go for? I bought the 46" last year for $1399 and I think it's time for an upgrade...

Not useless since now I know they wont have a hot deal on a hard drive, so no point in waiting til then to see, just get one now.

You can't buy until then anyway, so this list helps narrow down what you are watching for.

Thanks to the OP. Prices nice at some point, but a list alone works for now.

Ya I'm surprised no 1TB external hard drive or even a 500GB doorbuster deal.

not useful in Atlanta where CC is closing all 16 stores

I just hope that sammy that was supposed to be a "Sears exclusive" sells for 699 for the LN40A500 at CC. Sears would be so pissed and I would laugh my ass off.

Relatively new to BF deals. Do retailers like CC still offer financing deals for TVs with the doorbuster prices on BF?

Of course - how do you think they will make money? Even with low or zero interest teasers, it is assumed that the average person will incurr late fees, other finance charges, etc. Be prepared for hard sale for extended warranty, overpriced HDMI and monster audio cables,...

In this economy good luck. I'm sure there will be SOME sort of financing deal, but certainly not a good one.

The list looks like an internal list, as it says, these are one time buys, that is why there are no hard drives or other things on the list. These are only the things that are special Black Friday models, not regular stocked items.
I am sure there will be more items in the flyer.

.

I wouldn't count on it since they filed for bankruptcy today.

They filed for bankruptcy for protection from creditors while they re-organize and consolidate. Yes, they may go completely belly up, so I wouldn't make any purchases with big rebates attached, but they'll be open black Friday.

Give me your old 46".

TIA!

One good thing about CC is that the lines are going to be a lot less than Worst Buy. Two years ago, my wife and I got in line at Circuit City and picked up a $300 laptop. There were already over 100 people in line at Worst Buy across the street. The best deals are the ones that you can get. A better deal that will be sold out before you enter the store is useless.

I don't know if they'll still be pushing these now during the holidays, but whatever you do, DO NOT purchase an extended warranty. The odds they will be around to honor it when you need it are slim. Let's face it, they would not have made this move now unless they were absolutely in the most dire straights; because confidence in their stores will be shot and sales will go elsewhere during the most critical season. Personally, I will try to avoid any big ticket purchases from CC unless the price is absolutely out of this world. If you buy that new LCD TV and it turns out to be defective, you are more than likely stuck SHIPPING it yourself back to the manufacturer since returns/exchanges may not be allowed. In short, when considering shopping at CC for this year's holiday deals:

1. Do not buy an ext. warranty under any circumstances
2. Do not purchase gift cards
3. Do not buy anything unless you are 100% confident you won't need to return it later (or won't care much if you are unable)
4. And as the VirginiaDC stated, don't buy anything with a CC rebate unless you are OK with the price if the rebate never comes. Manufacturer rebates are still OK.

Not that I ever recommend buying extended warranties for other reasons, so long as their warranties are offered through a third part, e.g. "N.E.W." or the like, then purchasing one with a store in trouble is actually a good reason to reduce your risk that they go under within their normal return period. The 3rd party isn't in trouble.

Again, I NEVER buy extended warranties myself, but saying not to buy one just because a store filed CH11 is not sufficient. Granted I don't know how CC structures their warranties, so you'll want to check on that if you are seriously considering one. Store sponsored for 6 months probably safe, for 3 years, not safe just now.

Stores (and other business) file CH11 all the time and come out of it (look at Kmart). It's definitely good to be safe (like no Gift Cards that offer no real benefit). Store-sponsored rebates are probably fine for purchases through the end of the year. I wouldn't risk it afterwards unless it's clear they are emerging from CH11 which can't be told for a good 6 to 18 months after filing.

You have some valid points, but I'm not sure why you would assume that rebates and store sponsored warranties are good for the next 6 months. Even though they filed ch 11 (presumably a lot better than if they had filed 7), without being a financial expert or an insider knowing all the details of their financial situation, I think it's very hard to say these are definitely 'safe' bets. Why risk your money on a warranty, especially since most ext. warranties are for terms much longer than 6 months? (and assuming it isn't a 3rd party provider which I am sure is a possibility--but you are right most extended warranties shouldn't be bought as a matter of practice, anyway) Or make the assumption a rebate should be ok 'for now' only to possibly find out later it is totally worthless and uncollectable? I am not saying you are wrong, but honestly, why risk it?

Why would someone buy an overpriced extended warranty from a retailer, instead of Squaretrade? The latter is usually MUCH cheaper (with coupon codes), and backed by eBay.

As far as rebates are concerned - I have always had success with my credit card bank making good in such situations - going all the way back to Cyberebates.

I too dont usually buy ext. warranties, but for some items, its not a bad idea. Their warranties are through a 3rd party, so buying them wont hurt, despite what he is trying to say. 2. If your buying Gift Cards, I always prefer the Visa cards, but CC cards will be good for a long time and if its for XMas, you wont have any trouble using them, since most do within a month of XMas anyway. Crap about their return policy, its the same as last XMas and who buys things with the intent on returning it??? 4. Rebates suck period, CC rebates have always sucked, so nothing different here. Im not a big fan of how CC treats its employees, but not buying warranties, or gift cards from their, or not buying from them in general is whats going to cause them to fold by 2010. They are lucky to make $20 on a computer and $50 on a TV, warranties and Gift cards will help them stay a little longer and this guy obviously must work for Best Buy

Then why the hell did you open the thread? It clearly tells you in the TOPIC, that prices aren't listed
Such idiots

Appreciate the post OP!

I bought a cheap (that's why I bought it) extended warranty when I purchased my TV with Good Guys. After Good Guys folded, I received a letter from GE stating they owned the warranty. The TV power supply went out and GE sent out a repairman and fixed it with no charge.

Nope, I don't work for Best Buy, just helping people to be careful to avoid a bad situation. The court has to approve their acceptance of gift cards, etc., so for you to act like they are a guaranteed thing shows your ignorance of anything having to do with bankruptcy. Also, if the court so chose their return policy could go out the window, too, however unlikely. Just because the return policy written on the receipt remains the same as last year doesn't mean it has to/will be honored with 100% certainty. A lot of people need to return stuff after Christmas (duplicates, stuff they don't want, etc) so to say "who buys stuff with the intent of returning it?" is kind of an ignorant comment, too. Just my 2c

the Panasonic ES8109S is a shaver not a vacuum, I wonder what else is wrong with this ?
