This is probably the most interesting Black Friday ad of the season IMO. Highlights would include the 42" Plasma for $500, the Sylvania BluRay player for $149 (although I think w00t has a similar brand going now for $139 - I would guess that prices will start falling and these prices will become normal)., Portable DVD for $50 and the digital picture frame for $30 (just spent $36 on a previous deal. )

Every year, I am more impressed with Meijer's Thanksgiving Day and BF deals. I don't know if that's because Meijer's deals keep getting better, or just all the deals at other stores keep getting worse. Either way, my highlights for Thursday include:

Heads-up tip from someone who shops at Meijer a lot - they tend to have the doorbusters all over the place, often far from the department they would normally be found in. Expect to find electronic deals in the deli department. Last year they had a $499 42" no-tuner plasma set (ED resolution) and they had seats set up for the number of sets they had... in the food court! At the "opening" time - they rolled out all the electronic goodies there. I got therer at 4AM, they were already filled.
People may balk at having a sale on turkey day, but with Meijer, they are open anyway - so why not have a decent sale.

GFM is Meijer's house brand, and YMMV on quality - but overall people don't call it Garbage From Meijer for nothing.
Persoanlly I'd avoid it on anything that you can't afford to have fail and toss away.
GFM is bargain basement stuff, spend the extra for a name brand.
It may be a cheapo name brand, but $499 for a 42" Plasma is a deal nonetheless. Obviously you wouldn't want this to be your main home theater extravaganza TV (unless you are on a very small budget), but this would make a great set for the spare bedroom, kitchen, garage, bathroom, outhouse, SUV/VAN Tailgating Set, etc.
And you all are missing the highlight of this ad, it's the Friday 15% Off ANY ITEM (normal restrictions and DoorBusters) and the Saturday Santa Bucks. Use that 15% off coupon to take 15% off a Xbox360 or a Blu-Ray player, or just about anything else in the store!
Why get excited about 15% off a console when you can go on eBay and get 25% right now (and no tax) or 30% on Cyber Monday (according to rumors...or is it fact now?). There are many genuine sellers of eBay and works out a bunch cheaper.
15% off a brand new console on eBay? And of course this isn't the only item you can use this coupon on, basically anything Meijer has in their store (and if you don't have a Meijer, imagine taking this to Wal-Mart).

That's the problem with meijer...EVERY year in the last 4 have been different. Once they started giving away the coupons at 10PM WEDNESDAY, then once at Midnight, then at 6AM....same store...They have some decent deals, but they area a major pain in the as* to deal with. After the first 2 times, I called mgmnt and asked.."so WHEN will you start"...and for two years I got WRONG answers. I don't know if they're telling customers wrong times b/c they are having friends come pick stuff up for them or what...but b/c I like the store in general, i've stopped short of calling corporate..but if it happens again this year...I'll be calling them as I walk away from getting screwed yet again.
