Yep, there are only a few things actually on sale in that ad, the rest are regular price. Nice price for the bed, too bad it's only the queen size

You'd think that with Ikea being a furniture store and Black Friday being a big 'let's go buy an HDTV' holiday, Ikea would have some Black Friday deals on TV stands and entertainment centers. But I guess that's not how those silly Swedes roll.

OH CRAP... I literally *just* bought the queen size malm frame for $199. I wanted to get it since August, but had to wait and figure out how to get the boxes home.

If I still have the receipt (idk if I do) can I go on BF and buy it for $99 and return it using my receipt from Sept/Oct? They have a 90 return policy right?

I think it's 14 days for price match, but don't quote me on that.

How is the quality, product description says particle board. also the corners look very sharp. Can you give a quick review.

Yes, thats rite...it's 14 days for price match.

Sure, no prob. It's true it is particle board with a thin layer of veneer finish. It looks really nice, and I bought it to match the rest of my Malm set. I have the 5 drawer upright dresser, the wide 6 drawer dresser, and 2 two-drawer bed side tables. Once put together it feels sturdy *enough*, but for sure, this is not a bed you are going to use for the rest of your life. I am 30, and plan on using it until I am married and am in a position to purchase a real full bedroom set. The corners *are* as little sharp... becareful walking around at night in the dark! The only other comment I have, is for adults and nighttime activities. It's sturdiness creeps into my mind, while it slides around my hard wood floor.

P.S, I bought the wooden slats (even though I had a box spring) because I wanted the mattress to be as low to the ground as possible, and I also measured... and if you use the box spring and mattress, almost the entire headboard will be covered. So def figure in the extra $40 for the slats!

But couldn't I go in on BF, purchase it, get the boxes, then return the boxes with my old receipt from Oct?

Return policy is 90 days? I know it sounds crazy that someone would still have the bed it boxes after 2 months, then drive it back to the store, but what could they do?

Does anyone have any info on trying to do this? Has anyone done it before with any larger items (or warehouse pickup items)? I am only thinking of doing this due to the prospect of saving $100, for less I wouldn't.

Hey, I have a idea why not just call the fricking store? Quit wasting bandwidth here with frivolous questions.
DOH! It's safe to call the store on this one.

pretty sure it's safe to do since you won't open the boxes at all. they have a great return policy.

I have a full mattress. Will they offer a full size for this frame at the same price or less? Thanks in advance.

Go for it! I have done this at Target, walking from the checkstand right over to customer service with receipt in hand to return at the old price (of course!) I've done it for as little as $10 back, for a $100 there is no question about it!

I bought a Malm king sized bed with one of Ikea's memory foam mattresses more than 2 years ago. I've taken it apart, moved, and reassembled 3 times after the initial assembly. In fact, I just rebuilt it again last night. We've always had it on carpet, so I can't comment on the sliding on hardwood floor problem. But I can say that it doesn't creak, or make any sounds during "adult and night time activities".

Yes, it's a thin layer or vaneer glued to particle board. And after moving it so many times and having it abused in moving trucks, it's showing some ungluing on some edges. But, I can't blame that on Ikea. Any furniture that goes through that much moving is going to have some damage.

The edges are sharp. Running into it will definitely skin you shin. But getting in and our of bed hasn't caused any injuries.

Overall, it's pretty heavy. Feels sturdy. And still looks good. We've never felt that it would fall apart, even during vigourous activity. We are actually going to get the queen size one on BF for the guest room.

just letting you know that the price matches won't work with these items.

also, please make sure you make sure the article numbers match the numbers in the ads, because for items like the malm, and the comforter, there are more than one, and other ones might not be the same price

and as for the item such as malm, The malm has 3 separate boxes, they show 1 of 3 2 of 3 and 3 of 3, PLUS you'll need a midbeam to put in the center (attaches to the headboard and footboard) to hold either the box springs you have up, or slats that you'll also need to purchase if you do not have a box spring.

Just an associate trying to make sure you don't get to the cash lanes mad at the cashiers because you didn't know...

also, take your own bags in if you don't want to get charged for bags, as of October 1st, we don't even offer the .05c bags anymore either, only the .59c bags or the other decorative reusable bags that cost a little more (well, and then .49c bag that's smaller than the blue one)

Grab some Glogg and ginger thin cookies to try, and snag some swedish fish (YUMMM!) and their gingerbread toffee that is strong, but OOOOOH SOOOOO GOOD for the drive home.

Oh, oh, oh, and for you Michigan folks. Every Tuesday and Thursday, they're doing gingerbread house decorating through December 18....all you do is buy the house, and make your reservation, show up on scheduled date, the house is preassembled, and you get all the candy and frosting to use for free! It's GREAT FUN FOR THE KIDS!!! (Mine at least loved it!) It could be every location, but I'm not positive. If you're interested, ask your particular store.

HTH SOMEONE, my thread was deleted (though this isn't a really a BF deal, as these Seize the day deals happen often, all through the beginning of 09 too)

In line at the Frisco store now. The door says they open at 10, their phone message says they open at 8, and one girl in line said a CS rep told her yesterday that they open at 7. Not sure which to believe ...

Apologies in advance if this breaks forum rules.

I have an extra coupon for $25 if somebody wants to meet me up here (Ikea Frisco). It's good until 2pm.
