Hello All,

i think I've narrowed down my choices to either the Samsung PN42A400 42" plasma or the Panasonic TH42PX80U plasma. 6th Ave currently has the Samsung for $699 and the Panasonic for $659. I've read some really good reviews on the Panasonic, but anyone have any info on the Samsumg plasma? I'd love to hear some feedback comparing the two so i can decide between them. So far, its the best deal ive seen so far that doesnt require camping overnight. Thanks!!!

Anyone??

Sorry but I prefer the LCD. The Plasma uses more electric and the plasma throws off a lot of heat. I also prefer the Samsung. Sorry but no help.

Personally, I think that I'd take the TH42PX80U over the PN42A400 - the fact that it's cheaper makes that even more so. Now, if it were the PN42A450 and it was the same price as the TH42PX80U, then I'd probably just flip a coin.

the sammy is a new model i believe...with msrp of 699. The TV price war is on, and this is samsung's latest addition to the war. TheA450 is currently their entry level and i think they are introducing the A400 to further make it harder for us to choose

Actually, the A400 is a re-badge of last year's model while the A450 is the current year model. I would honestly recommend you stay with current year model plasmas and pony up the extra cash to do so.

Go with the Panasonic. It is alreay proven and it is cheaper. The Samsung won't be any better, it can only be equal to the panasonic and since there is not a lot of people who have experience with them, simply go with what you are already know and it is less.

BTW, I own a Panny 50 and 42 and they are the best TV for the money. To get a comparative LCD you would have to spend $1,000 more and the only LCD's I would get are Samsung and Sony.

the panasonic is listed at $729 and not 659, is there a coupon or something for this TV?

edit
nm I see it now.

I got the Samsung 42" Plasma at Kmart on T-Day for $699!! Anyone else get this tv??
