The $99 OTD 21.6" lcd is decent The canon multifunction laser printer for $80 OTD is also pretty good some FAR stuff, but nothing worth getting up early to stand in line for.

lol that's hilarious. Same Santa graphics and design as last year?
Last year when I got there at 3:30am, I was about 400 people back. I got in the store by 5:30am, left by 6:45am, and was back in bed by 7:30am. I made it out with 90% of the items on my list.
This is what Fry's did for the previous years (prior to 2005). They would have 2 pages of ad in the paper on Thursday. On Friday morning, there would be another 8 pages with much better deals than the ones that were released on Thursday. I wouldn't be surprised to see much better things on Friday morning's paper, unless it is leaked early. I used to stand in line like a fool without knowing what I am getting until the paper boy come by that morning at around 3am. I must say Fry's is doing a great job this year keeping their ad a secret.

did you get any processor/mobo combos? i wonder if it is worth going or not, sorta thinking about the quad for 159. but I dont want to wait more than 2 hours.
There are never decent motherboard combos at Fry's on BF....At least not in my opinion.
Hate to tell you this, but if you're not willing to wait over 2 hours, you're better off going somewhere else. The last couple years, many of the Frys deals have been available online, you might look into that.

Yes... except everyone has been insisting that there won't be an eight paged Friday ad this year, and that they're saving a lot of their sales for Saturday.
I personally have trouble believing it, and if they're bluffing, they've done a great job in doing so. I'm just not sure what they gain out of it. If they're not, I'll be looking forward to what they're be putting on sale this time.

Their photo frames and Samsung 40" for 798 is available online now. Website is HAMMERED though.
I have the Los Angeles version in my hand now and I see the following 3 differences:
1. The "Major Name Brand" 52'' 1080P 120Hz LCD for $1198 is listed with an LG logo inplace of the "Major Name Brand" text. Item number is the same.
2. In place of the $48 7" Portable DVD player (on the far left under the canon camera) is a "8'' PORTABLE DVD PLAYER AND DIGITAL PICTURE FRAME" with an LG logo. Listed for $48 also but a different item number of #5706662. Note: It is one item that can be used as a dvd player or placed on a table to act as a digital picture frame.
3. In addition to the $1299 MacBook there is a $999 MacBook. Item #5779562. From the picture it looks like its the previous generation. Full description is: "Apple MacBook WITH A 13.3'' WIDSCREEN DISPLAY & 2.1GHz Intel Core 2 Duo PROCESSOR WITH A TUCANO MICROFIBER SLEEVE, A BLUETOOTH MOUSE AND AN EPSON ALL-IN-ONE COLOR PHOTO QUALITY PRINTER/SCANNER/COPIER" $1178.97 - $179.97 Instant Savings = $999

Any ideas as to which MAJOR NAME BRAND the 32" LCD for $388 is? Or the "21.6 monitor for $99? I have a feeling it's analog only input.

does anyone know if frys pass out vouchers for big stuff like TVs an hour before the stores open?
There's an effort from DD-wrt to get that airlink router supported - which would be sweet.

I'm confused. What about frys.com? Does anyone know what deals they will have? And what time will they start?

I see that Polk speakers are back!
If anyone is bored, here's my last year's story of getting those speakers at Fry's. Or you could just scroll through.
I happen to live about 5 minutes away by car from the nearest store. The night before Friday I was casually glancing through the ads, not really wanting to go anywhere, and then I saw Fry's ad with Polk speakers in it.
So, I figure: I am not going to get up at 5 AM, but 7 AM is doable. I'll quickly drive over to Fry's, make sure that the speakers are gone (as they undoubtedly will), drive back home, get into bed and sleep some more. As good as done! Right? Wrong. I get up around 7, drive to Fry's, and it's a complete zoo there, naturally. Even though I know every corner around there where I could park, every corner is taken. Finally I find a spot in some industrial area by a BodyShop (with a 'tow away' sign, of course) and head to Fry's.
It's a Sodom and Gomorra in there. I walk over to the speakers section, and lo and behold - they are there. Heavy suckers, and I don't have a cart. All right, I am going back home. Then a miracle happens: a free cart right by me and no one wants it! I load it up and proceed to the end of the line. I was naive enough to think that with Fry's massive checkout register line I'd be out in no time. Bzzzz. Wrong. 4 freaking hours. I would have left earlier, but I already had invested so much time, I kept my place. By the time I got to checkout registers, the crowds dissipated, and I could have done the same in maybe 40 minutes.
So, as I finally get out of the store, this berserk woman runs up to me, shoves a map printout in my face and desperately asks me: 'Do you know where is this place?' It looks like East SJ or something, quite a ways from the store, which is what I tell her. She starts sobbing uncontrollably: "My car was towed!". I almost sh!t a brick, remembering that I myself parked in a restricted spot. So, I run with the cart towards my car, while doing mental calculations on how much I lost instead of saving. Luckily, my car was still standing there - all quiet and good.
I loaded up the speakers, drove away from the madness and told myself: "never again. Not in a lifetime!"
P.S. Last year's price was $49.00 each. This year's sale isn't hot.
WEP 250 Blooth headset for $5 AR Canon D320 Digital Laser copier, printer for $20.00 AR EVGA 7200GS PCI express graphics card FAR, probably good for e bay. 4GB DDR2 PC6400 Ballistx memory for $20 AR
I just picked up the 21 inch monitor for 99 bucks. It looks like a good deal even if it is only vga and not dvi. It is the same price as a 19 inch one on Newegg and cheaper than the 19 inch one at Staples. thanks for the heads up.

A lot of departments missing... Where are the CPU/Mobo combos and Soundcards.

This was the Friday pre-ad. Yes these prices will be for Friday. Buyt, they will STILL have a normal multipage ad like they do every Friday, that will include all the normal categories, and whatnot, plus a lot of BF specific items.

don't think so, the 8 page ad will be on Saturday. That has been the rumor for the past couple of days, so it looks like its true
edit: same ad for the LA Times http://latimes.p2ionline.com/shoppingchannel/rop/
I think I'll get another one of the memorex 100pack jewelcases + cd wallet FAR each, and ill check the LG blu-ray/hd-dvd combo and mybe cancel the Newegg 1 ($5 isn't much but i rather save FW style) $99 for a 21.6" monitor is a good price too
Ugh.. everyone was complaining about how LOUSY of a deal Frys was...
cept for that Samsung Bottom-Mount freezer fridge... @ $600, it was almost $300 cheaper than anything else I can find in the region. Of course all SoCal Frys sold out by lunch time. Really need a fridge, sick of eating out
