Oh geeze, I can't even think of one thing I need. As I sit here with my Newegg Asus router, typing on my fatwallet T61, watching tv on my Emprex 32inch tv, watching on my dishnetwork deal i found on FW, and talking on my SERO 500 sprint plan I found on this site.
I have 4 printers in my basement just because it was cheaper to buy them. 2 Blu ray players coming.........i cant think of one thing to buy on this site!!
Any ideas?? lets see some deals!

Live terms say you can earn 2500 per year, no limit per sale mentioned

No way to know until Friday morning if they've adjusted the deals for the Live CB - but - I'd still say on many items this is going to be hard to beat anywhere else. I have been pricing and using coupons for a few months for a DV7 top of the line laptop and haven't come up with 40% off yet.
If they leave the sale prices and this is 40% off discounted prices, it's THE home run. Since Microsoft is paying for all of this, same way they are with eBay I don't see any reason why the sale prices wouldn't be in play for BF.

it seems every laptop on the site has a % discount code automatically put there by HP, so it would be impossible to find one or many without. Remember Microsoft is giving the Cash Back, not HP.
Again, no way to know what they'll do with the linked page until Friday morning.

How do you know if MSFT is paying for this?
I have been wondering the terms myself, and have put out some "feelers". The response from insiders is simply they dont know who is footing the tab, or who is paying how much or what is being offered in return.
HP gets a lots more sales, so they must be putting something up. It could be information, preinstalled software, or spitting the costs, who knows? not me anyway.

Q]
Because of the eBay deal. There's a huge thread on the eBay 25% off and there is no way eBay is paying 25% off. These deals are Microsoft's attempt to capture more market share. Whatever the deal is between HP and Microsoft and the reason they chose HP vs Dell or anyone else is anyone's guess, but there's no way HP is paying this kind of discount.
EDITED: I also forgot to mention that HP had the 25% off deal for Labor Day and the sale prices were in effect and the pre-loaded sale discounts.
herbamatic said: so are "instant rebates" the same as "coupons"?
I can't tell you with 100% certainty that they're not, but HP had a 25% off Live.com for Labor Day and I kept up on that thread, I didn't see anyone denied CB if they didn't use outside codes, but most of the laptops and desktops had internal HP rebates or codes pre-loaded onto the site.
There were people who tried to use outside codes and I believe some got away with it but others were denied. For 40% off I wouldn't take a chance, but since the Labor Day sale went off without problems on the pre-loaded discounts, I would think the BF deal will be the same way. Hope that helps.

It ony says HOME & HOME OFFICE Store at the top of the page. Live.com is so finicky, I'm not sure I would take the chance. Maybe someone else will come along that knows more.

Redrover it appears you are just assuming MSFT is footing the bill for this. We do not know that.
It matters because it may effect how CashBack works out with different sellers. We already know some stores choose to follow guidlines much closer that others.
if MSFT were picking up 40% (not much chance) then we can be sure to get the lot and bundle coupons too.
but more than likely HP is footing the bill for the refferal and perhaps much more.
Great deal if the prices hold etc. Live has been the best fatwallet deal ever.
Without hijacking this thread until it's worthless, of course it's an assumption since I don't work for HP or MSFT or have access to their agreement. If you want to believe that eBay or HP are paying the 25 and 40% off on these Live.com rebates out of the goodness or their hearts, when they're only giving the other rebate sites like FW a few % points, then go right ahead. The article I linked is but one article related to MSFT's attempts to jump start their Live.com search business, google Live.com rebate on Google News.
Believe what you like, no one has proof either way, just good common sense combined with info that's out there. Lets try not to hijack this thread into oblivion since this deal is only good for 12 hours tomorrow and everyone can make their own decision.
will the EPP buying program work and HP doesn't apply coupons they term it as instant rebate

Sorry for my ignorance. But does CashBack mean that I wd pay 40% less to begin with or does it mean that I pay the full price and get the 40% off at some later point? Also the item I am currently looking at is priced at 550 after 120 in instant rebate. If I buy on 11/28 using the live.com deal does my item cost 550 before the 40% CashBack or would it cost me 770 before the CashBack? Thanks!!

link for MS's CB agreement "...You will not earn CashBack rewards on purchases where ... (g) you also use a separate discount or coupon;..."
so would instant rebate or free shipping or those special offers on HP counts as "separate discount"? this sounds too good to be true and kinda risky...
This looks very very hot presuming the same specs etc are kept for the computers (or maybe even a bit better specs.) I'm looking at a fairly good laptop for $400 thats better than anything else i've seen out there. I'm assuming instant rebates etc would continue to work.

so, if every thing in HP home is like today then price of dv5t should be (579.99+150)*60%-150=288

it means you pay the full price and get a rebate back in 60 days from Live.com. You must sign up at Live.com and do the email verification first.
We don't know if the instant rebates that are on the site today will be there during this sale tomorrow, but since HP and Live.com are running a 25% off rebate now, no reason to think they'll change things for tomorrow.

My name is Shirley. How are you doing today?" 11/27/2008 01:38:40PM Seth: "Grand. I was wondering about the Black Friday HP/Live.com 40% coupon, if it will add to the Instant Rebates on most PCs or will it replace it?" 11/27/2008 01:39:18PM Agent (Shirley G.): "I understand that you are inquiring about the instant rebate and the Black Friday live.com 40 % rebate. HP is committed to customer satisfaction. I will be glad to assist you with your concern." 11/27/2008 01:39:32PM Agent (Shirley G.): "Seth, the it will replace the instant rebate." 11/27/2008 01:39:59PM Seth: "Thank you very much!" 11/27/2008 01:40:04PM Session Ended
So if your PC comes to say, $1599.99 , You will be putting $1599.99 on your credit card. 60 Days later, when the CashBack approves you, you should get $640. Amirite?

Me too, I'm getting nervous. In the CashBack account it says "Paid with Paper Check" on 2/5/2009. The U.S. Postal service doesn't take anymore then three days to mail letters. The only thing I can imagine is Singapore told the American office on the 5th...
