Yesterday I passed Target at 5:50am watching probably 300 people freeze. So I went to the second tier stores (Lowe's, HD, Bi-mart) and it was like shopping on a Tuesday afternoon in September.
I went back to Target at 7:30am and bought nothing. Actually, I didn't find anything worth waiting in line 2 hours for (the line wrapped around the store, and started about 20 feet from the store entrance), and I thought, WHY didn't I buy everything on Wednesday?!?!?! I mean, really, the ads are now online early, on the retailer's own website! So I'd have no reason to feel guilty for finding an ad scan on some deal website.
I went back again this morning at 8:00am to a short line of about 30 people. They had a few items stocked that they'd received shipments on on Friday, but nothing big. I bought a handful of sale items and asked the girl if they'd have made adjustments, and she said 'sure'. WTF? Why didn't I think of that on WEDNESDAY! They're not 'doorbusters' per se...
So I went to Sears and got the last Guitar Hero Guitar Kit for Wii for $60 OTD PM. A lot of work for something I could have done all along...

Luckily I bought the Toshiba Satellite that was advertised on Best Buy's doorbuster 22 days ago for about 650$ plus tax and coverage and all. I got a huge partial refund.

We went to Lowes on Wed and purchased the $29.99 Shop Vac and Skil Table saw ($80 on BF) at full price. Was told to come back on Friday and get the adjustments. Really glad we did because DH went to HD at 5 to get the Ryobi miter saw deal and by the time he went back to Lowes, the shop vac were gone. After the adjustments at Lowes, we saved $100 on those two items.

I did it with a nice wool hooded peacoat at Sears. Purchased it earlier this week for $79.99 but this particular coat went 75% off on the doorbuster. Sears will price adjust for 30 days, but for the doorbusters you have to email during their doorbuster hours. Long story short I got my $40 back and it was an online transaction so I never even had to leave my house or talk to anyone to get my money back. I also got $4.50 back from Target for a sleeping bag. I didn't even have the receipt for that one but there was NOONE at customer service yesterday morning at 6. She was actually kind of nice. Anyhow, I got $44 back that I spent so it's not like I really saved it.
